jonbailey Posted Friday at 07:17 PM Posted Friday at 07:17 PM Did anyone else see Johntay Cook is visiting Arkansas? I'm torn between wishing him the best and hoping he just wastes a bunch of the Walton's money. 4 Quote

Because that player can play in future years? His first year at the new SEC institution would be merely a red shirt year, provided he had not used it yet. 1 Quote

Don't really care, but just out of curiosity, since the last team he played on was Texas, wouldn't the SEC rule still apply? Otherwise its a loophole any player could use - bounce to Big12 or ACC then bounce again back into SEC? 3 Quote

It doesn’t matter if he played is my understanding. 1 Quote

I’m pretty sure Cook was kicked out of Texas in the fall semester, and entered the Winter portal to transfer to Washington. He was subsequently kicked out of the UW program, and has now entered the Spring portal. The SEC rule applies to Spring portal entrants being prohibited from playing with another SEC school the following fall. It doesn’t apply to those who left their school in the Winter portal, for example Brad Spence from Arkansas to Texas. That is my understanding anyway. 3 1 Quote
