Schloss and the Texas Longhorns are playing at an unreal level and keep finding ways to win close games down the stretch.    This team is really fun to watch for the way they play great team baseball and never give up.   Congrats for the first series sweep against A&M in 15 yrs.  Who else in the Top 10 comes close right now?   No one!!   Even with key injuries our Horns have sustained, they keep finding ways to persevere.

Among the Top 10 teams this weekend, #2 and #3 were both swept and #4, #5, #6 and #9 all lost their series 1-2.   No other team in the Top 10 won all 3 games in their series.

Top 10 Results this weekend:

1. Texas sweeps series vs. Texas A&M 3-0

2. Clemson loses series 0-3 to #25 NC Stat

3. Oregon State loses series 0-3 to #13 Oregon

4. Florida State loses series 1-2 to #19 Louisville

5. Arkansas loses series 1-2 to Florida

6. Tennessee loses series 1-2 to #7 LSU

8. North Carolina wins series 2-1 vs. Pittsburgh

9. Vanderbilt loses series 1-2 to #23 Ole Miss

10. Georgia wins series 2-1 vs. #14 OU

You know what’s even crazier about this 37-5 team? Three of the five losses were extra innings losses and the 5-3 loss to Texas State I believe we left runners on base in the 9th with a chance to win.  Only the LSU loss (which we won the series) was a decisive win for the bad guys . Great team!

Great points.    The other crazy thing about this team and this season is that they are doing all of this in the SEC.    By far, the best conference in baseball.    Ark and LSU are next in the standings and a full 5 games back.   In fact, after Texas, the next 9 teams in the SEC are only separated by 3 wins and all 9 teams are ranked in the Top 25.   This conference is unreal and Texas keeps getting it done while the rest of the conference keeps knocking each other down.

Gonna win it all.

I hope you're right.  Hard to believe with the injuries this season, including Jared Spencer's season ending shoulder surgery, that we could still potentially win it all.  Incredible season so far.

Will be much harder with the injuries, hope we aren’t saying what if, but one of the strengths of the team has to be untouchable by injuries, Max Weiner.  We have held most teams, and all of the top teams to under their scoring percentage  for the year.  The pitching transformation is unbelievable.  We are getting a lot of pitches in the zone early and getting ahead of batters . This is also true of the at bats (Tulo) , our batters have nice patience and don’t swing at a lot of balls that they shouldn’t.  This discipline will certainly play in our favor for the long haul of the season.

I'll admit to being a little nervous about the Sunday starter role moving forward without Spencer. Flores and Bing have mostly been pretty good midweek pitchers, but we'll have to see how they fare with a step up in competition. Our bullpen has been pretty lights out, so it's not like they have to go deep in games, but we'll need those guys to at least give us a shot once we get into tournament play.

Tulo has eliminated a lot of the golfing swings on low pitches, but I was alarmed at seeing swinging strikes on neck high fastballs this week.  I hope Tulo nips that quickly!

And pitching wise behind in more counts lately to be fair.  However, overall we’ve been good.

All game results are decisive in the record book.

Well of course, but competitive losses are better than the alternative. (Getting your butt kicked)

Spencer’s loss will be an issue at some point in my opinion. Tournament time is hard on a pitching staff. But this team take gritty to a new level.

Very possible but I’ve learned to stop doubting this team’s resilience and ability to overcome injuries with ‘next man up’ mindset.   The coaches and players have something special going in 2025.   Feels magical.   Can’t wait to see what Jonah Williams looks like in the playoffs once he gets cookin’
