Hermanator Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 I don't know anything about baseball. Is Texas considered a contender? Quote

hookem1 Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 A&M is legit, their position player lineup is absolutely loaded. With LaViolette, Montgomery, Grahovac, and Camarillo all hitting over .380, their pitching just needs to be decent for them to have a really good year. Our pitching meanwhile has led the way so far for us especially with the three shutouts this weekend! The lineup has been up and down. While Thomas and Powell have been everything you could’ve asked for at the top of the order, there has been some slow starts further down. Notably Brown and O’Dowd hitting .154 and .125 respectively. But with how good the pitching has been early, it is allowing time for them to get going. Both catchers hitting well too 1 Quote
Robert Gilbert Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 I have watched every game so far and while I do not think that we should crown them NCAA Champs, yet. I do see a team that can be very good and should make a deep run in the playoffs. 2 Quote
Jerry K Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 The season is still young. Still work to be done in my opinion on offense but also for some of the pitching. Playing better teams (starting Tuesday) will expose some of these issues. I feel like Baseball America has them ranked about right at 15. Again it’s still early. This team can be really good though when it all comes together. Just glad LBJ is on our team! Quote

We are going to learn A LOT about this team by next Tuesday night. St John’s, LSU, Texas State, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M in that order. That’s tough. 1 Quote
