They might or might not be “dudes”, but they did pick up 3 OL in the portal

Ah, good looking out there. I wasn't sure if they grabbed guys out of the portal at OL.

Quick update: Coach Day said that he would like to name a starter by the end of next week. That checks out as it is a similar time frame he named Justin Fields, CJ Stroud, and Will Howard as QB1.

I believe Ohio State has a scrimmage tomorrow, and then a scrimmage next Saturday. Day has his next press conference I believe the Monday after next Saturday and most believe he’ll announce QB1 at that time.

Ohio State fans remain fairly certain it will be Julian Sayin and they would still be shocked if it is LK.

CJ, what's their o-line looking like?  It doesn't look like they have anyone with any significant experience in the competition.  If that o-line isn't stout, there could be a lot of panicky throws coming out of that backfield.

Many Ohio State fans and media believe this is the deepest Ohio State’s offensive line has been for over a decade.

They believe their OL will be elite from the first snap of the season. Ohio State returns all 3 starters on their IOL. The RT is sure to be an upgrade over last season, as Josh Fryar was the weak link on the OL, Austin Siereveld is replacing him. The only question is LT, but we are confident that Onianwa is as advertised and will fit in perfectly on the left side.

I don’t think it can be overstated how beneficial it is for Ohio State to know their starting 5 from the first day of training camp and give them reps together for an entire month before their first game.

We brought in an OT from WVU (Justin Terry), and OT from Rice (Ethan Onianwa), and an OT from Minnesota (Phillip Daniels).

Justin Terry is just a depth piece, won’t be on the two deep, Onianwa will be Ohio State’s starting LT, and Phillip Daniels was brought in to compete at RT, but it looks like he lost the battle already to Austin Siereveld and will be RT2.

By all accounts Onianwa is a star. I heard his name pretty often in Mobile for the Senior Bowl earlier this year.

I hope you are correct. It’s been reported that he lost some weight and looks very good physically. Ryan Day said last week that he has been repping some at RT and G, it definitely made Buckeye Nation a little anxious that maybe he hadn’t locked down the LT spot. It appears it’s just the coaches cross training the OL in case they have the injuries like they did last season.
