TheContractor12 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago So we are going to 9 games and each team gets 3 permanent opponents. This is how I think it should be. Do you think its fair? What would you change? Quote
HookemTexas Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I’m thinking this may be a precursor to the SEC changing the champion game to a play in game for 3/4 or 5/6. Quote
SpaceCityWrangler Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago The way I see the 3 permanent opponents Georgia: Florida; Auburn; South Carolina Bama: Auburn; Tennessee; LSU Texas: ou; aggy; Arkansas LSU: Ole Miss; aggy; Bama Tennessee: Vandy; Bama; Florida Auburn: Bama; Georgia; Vandy aggy: Texas; LSU; ou Ole Miss: LSU; Miss St.; Kentucky Miss St.: Ole Miss; Kentucky; Vandy ou: Texas; aggy; Missouri Florida: Georgia; Tennessee; S. LonghornFan4Ever Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago For Texas, it’s going to be OU, A&M, and Arkansas, but I would get more hype if Georgia or LSU was their third permanent opponent instead of Arkansas. Don’t get me wrong, I respect the history of this rivalry from the SWC era, but it hasn’t been a premier rivalry since the ‘60s and ‘70s. After joining the SEC in the early ‘90s, outside of some splash seasons with Houston Nutt, Bobby Petrino, Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Ryan Mallett (RIP), etc., Arkansas hasn’t been nationally relevant in college football and probably won’t be for the foreseeable future. Seems like more of their NIL is allocated to baseball and basketball than football. I think having LSU or Georgia will lead to more intriguing matchups and also be great for recruiting in those states. I know Texas has done well recruiting in those states without playing in those states, but those would be fun road trips to make every other year. Quote
