Texas could secure a 1 seed with a good showing in the SEC tournament. Ranked 3 right now and #2 in RPI they currently sit in a very strong position. 
 

winning their first match and then a likely rematch vs A&M probably enough to remain in the top 4 overall even with a loss to Kentucky in the championship. Win the tourney and have a shot at the 2 seed (Nebraska will be the overall 1 seed). 

Getting the 2 or 3 overall seed would be nice to avoid Nebraska until the championship match.
