He's never had "ultimate" say in his starting 5. That's not how it works. The head coach always does.

It cracked me up when people would blame the WR coach at Texas when Herman would have 8 receivers rotating.

And that’s the problem. The HC chose that starting 5 we had for half the season. The HC also chose to only bring in one portal OL for a visit, also a problem. Did Texas offer to match or beat Oregons offer? If neither then that is also a problem.

NIL offers effect the entire team NIL. You want a change for the sake of a change

Me? Personally removing flood does nothing as Gerry pointed out earlier, just a scapegoat type of letting go.

I think “Flood is likely gone” is a statement with zero actual backing.

Not sure the point here. But I guess we will just hast to agree to disagree on this. I stand by my comment and opinion.

It’s not arm chair coaching when you watched an offensive that couldn’t move SHSU d-lineman and watched Florida nearly kill Arch.

So Coach why couldn’t the OL move SHSU DL?

Yet you continue to push a change IMO

One thing I have witnessed in Sark is that he sees what we see,  generally speaking, when it comes to roster and talent evaluation. He will do what he can to improve any area on his team that seems a weakness or in need of an upgrade. Our offensive line will most likely be much more experienced next year. If it is in the team’s (and the Mannings?) best interest to grab a player or two from the portal to solidify our oline… I believe it will be done.

We have definitely had some bumps in the road this year but the road seems to be getting smoother as the pups are getting older, wiser and more unified… imho. Fret naught… the Sark is on it.

I don’t believe I have pushed for Flood to be fired. I am pushing for us to use NIL similar to how we did for interior defensive linemen last portal season and bring in 2-4 because it’s very obvious that there isn’t much on the roster after this year. Baker is the only guy who should have a job next season as he has gotten better over the course of the season. Goosby is likely gone, Hutson is gone, and Campbell is gone. Robertson is okay as a center but hopefully Cruz can live up to the hype. Other than Baker we don’t have one proven starter for next season.

Because they were bad - it’s not hard, dude. Stroh was so damn slow laterally that the double teams used during zones got blown up. Stroh also just doesn’t move anyone in general. Offensive line is a position that all 5 have to be in sync, 1 bad egg destroys that. The LG was the problem. Hutson being there fixes it for now, but let’s see how it plays out against bigger dudes.

Way I see it everyone was wrong on the OL. All the idiots who had us ranked #1, all the sites, fans , and the coaches. Regardless it needs to fixed.

Now what is wild we are still in position to make the playoffs.  Lets do it.   See everyone in Athens.

Coach, what needs to be done to resolve the OL?

Goosby will come back IMO Agree on needing portal IOL with experience.

I'm not going to lie, I've done that more than once here lol.

I also think Sark has earned a Mulligan this year. And I will trust him to do what is best. If he keeps Flood or fires him he will have to own it.

Beat Georgia

And I think we’re all on same page with beating Georgia! Also seems like we’re on same page with portal for a couple starting caliber OL.

I think the Portal is a must.

I will add. If Flood is not retained who knows if the new OL coach will like the current commits or offers. He may like others more. So yeah any offer by Flood now may not mean anything if Flood is gone in a few weeks.  Should be interesting to see how it plays out.

What you're misunderstanding when people say why wouldn't Sark get rid of Flood, is because Sark is the one who controls what O is run, the schemes, etc. Flood fits what he develops, recruits, etc. To what Sark wants.

Unless Sark changes what he does, it won't matter who the OL coach is. With Sark they don't specialize in anything or have an identity to measure up an OL towards. He wants them to do literally everything.

This is what I've gathered from people that talk about the situation anyway and putting two/two together.

Welp with Flood coming back and them not taking any portal OL guaranteed, better see some major development of the current OL room because 2026 is supposed to be the year...

I don't profess to have any insider knowledge just my gut feeling on the situation and going off what people who are in the know are saying.

Whether we see major development will be on what Sark decides to do.

Right now the OL would look something like this (assuming Goosby does go pro):

LT - Brooks, LG - Stroh/Kibble, C - Roberston/Cruz, RG - Stroh/Kibble, RT - Baker

Now I don't know where a guy like Cojoe fits into all that coming back from a season ending injury. If he portals, if he could slot in at G or what. It's also dependent on how the current crop of Fr are doing besides Brooks. Coleman brothers and Christian. Do any of them factor in at G?

Then you've got Chatman and Umeozulu. We all seem to think Umeozulu will transfer but does Chatman stay as depth? Lots of ? marks for next year, too.
