  1. You can start with Kevin Marr, big 12 official from Omaha, NE. Whenever the Horns drew that crew, it felt like a Mafia scum fix. JMO
  2. I'm thinking he's a badass for Sark to do this. Offer list is an indicator.
  3. Nitpicking here, but they did utilize the Wishbone from the outset of 1968. They tied UH in the opener and lost to Tech in the second game in Lubbock. They fell way behnd Tech early and nearly pulled a off a come back win when they switched QBs to James Street. I think the consensus is that the switch to Street was the pivotal moment for that season and the program.
  4. These updates have me pumped, so excited as I come down from DFW for the opening series. I will say that it is going to be different for me without my old buddy Wilson.😪
  5. True, original wishbone was Koy, Worster, and Gilbert. 1969 Champs were Bertelsen, Worster, and Koy. That 1968 team was pretty awesome by the end of the season. A lot of great players in their last season such as Chris: teammates like Bill Bradley, Corby Robertsen, Loyd Wainscott, Deryl Comer (injured & returned a little in 1970), Ken Gidney, Danny Abbott, Denny Aldridge and others I'm forgetting. But that team blew aTm's socks off (defending SWC Champs with a lot of returners and monkey stomped Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl.
  6. His junior year, when he was 3rd in the Heisman voting (a trip to NYC these days), he broke the SWC single season mark which had stood since 1951. Just a helluva back, and everything JimR6 says about what he meant to the program is spot imo. It is shame that knee injuries during that time had such a diblitating effect on players.
  7. Some others who deserve mention: QB: James Street RB: Chris Gilbert & Roosevelt Leaks C : Bill Wyman & Mike Babb OT: Bob McKay LB: Robin Sendlein S : Bill Bradley K : Russell Erxleben (Yes, in addition to Punting) Adding a lot of old-timers, because that is what an old poster does! 😉 Not even going back to Bud McFadin, Harley Sewell etc.
  8. Maybe he could play volleyball with The Elk? 😄 Would love to see him come our way, so we'll need to pay up.
  9. Pretty good at protecting Arch, but about average run blocking, imo.
  10. Not only one of my favorite Longhorns, but also my son's (he was about 15 at the time of that quote). That quote was a home run at the cochamps household. 😄
  11. Duncanville, Tx. Looking for another Colin Simmons or Alex January to send towards UT.
  12. Colin Simmons says "hold my beer".
  13. I guess so. Imo, injuries to Brooks in 23 and Baxter in 24 quite possibly cost us NCs in each of those years. Again, jmo.
  14. I dont think RB recruiting has been a problem, but rather an inordinate amount of injuries. You may say "well recruit more RBs", but there is a cap on all of these positions. JMO
  15. Quinn. His recruitment jump started the Sark regime much like Ricky coming back for his senior year did for Mack. Getting to boo that jackwagon Yormark was fun too! When he was healthy early in seasons, he did damage versus Bama X 2 and Michigan. It's easy to remember the flaws, but he was pretty damn good.
  16. Quan Cosby 6. 212 - 2598 - 19 (Career) 92 - 1123 - 10 (2008) Caught in the Fiesta vs tOSU, including a pretty big one.
  17. James "Slick" Street 16. 20-0 as starting QB for the Horns. Here's hoping that Arch can top that!
  18. If that doesn't get to you, something is wrong with you. Root for all Longhorns in the league, but will follow him a little more after seeing that.
  19. Super Bill Bradley 18. Exceptional NFL career as a S for Philadelphia. SWC record holder for interceptions in a game vs aTm (4 on Turkey day 1968). That game was my first in person Longhorn game, and the day I decided I was going to UT. Got to visit in the locker room (different world back then) which was a thrill for a 15 year old.
