You could give the young man a free education and unfettered access to whatever support he needs, while also not allowing him to be on the team after years of continued breaking of NCAA rules and betting on his own team. Showing the young man care does not necessitate him being allowed to continue to play football at your university.

I wonder if Tech is seriously concerned that the Big12 might actually step in here and they want to limit further news cycle material.

I do not like this one bit. It doesn’t seem fair to the other colleges, college athletes, the fans, or the rule makers. That being said, I still pray for the young man’s soul. That’s more important than how many football games he plays. -
