  1. Yes but it’s not a bad consolation. Seems like a Lole for Williams DT trade.
  2. Definitely true, but that was a last minute gotta make a decision before signing day situation.
  3. Basically every guy that commits to usc over the other powers seems to me to be good news as I think usc will struggle this year and who knows if old burnt brisket boy will jump ship to the nfl. That’s why i still have hope for tagoa’i
  4. Speaking about wrs. Saw Tom Loy and Wiltfong both put in a prediction for Hines to usc today. Interesting…
  5. He hasn’t visited us that we know of so I would hope he isn’t flipping somewhere today. We saw how it worked out the last time someone committed before visiting.
  6. Thanks Gerry. If we could get 2 of the 3 five stars.. especially a Ffrench and Wilson combo, that would be incredible. Hard to replace dkm in a class but that is the next best solution for sure.
  7. Let’s say he decommits. How does this affect the recruitments of Ffrench and Lockett? Similar larger receivers.. Wilson a bit faster? There probably no way to get all 3 but could we get 2?
  8. I hate that we had no real place for terry bussey last year and had him end up at a&m. With the dkm drama I would hope that sark just says we will keep you on offense as you wish and figure out where to put you, knowing that we have an extra wr spot in case somehow he pans out in this role.
  9. True. But it could be a pleasant surprise with development of Bryant, Bledsoe, Mitchell, January and Mills or a disaster if a few don’t develop. I feel that Bryant will be solid, Bledsoe is a wild card, Mitchell is leaning negative, January has huge potential, and Mills will be a good developmental prospect. Hopefully we can add sanders as another low floor high ceiling guy and then some more portal players to this depth.
  10. I’m interested in the super athletic guys Bledsoe, McDonald and gullette
  11. With the angst over recruiting, it's seemingly lost on some people that we have a pretty good football team, and that is more important than anything else. I wanted to take a look at our depth chart and areas of strength / weaknesses.. in particular what would happen if we were to somehow lose a player to injury. For this, I'll use a 1-10 scale with 10 being best, considering starter quality and amount of drop off with the backups. QB - 9. Though I can't think of another QB room in the country that has a better 1-2 punch, we would miss Quinn's experience if Arch had to step in. That said, Arch has arguably more upside than Quinn and I'm pretty sure we would feel pretty good about him starting any game with perhaps the exception of UM and UGA. RB - 7. We have great depth. However, if CJ Baxter were to miss time, who would fill the role of the big bruising between the tackles runner? This is a big concern, as we would likely need to rely on a freshman for major carries. If Blue were to miss time, I'd feel good with Wisner for sure. WR - 7. Again, fantastic depth. Concern is more due to how all these new guys play together and mesh with Quinn, moreso than any one player can't be replaced. Frankly it's hard to even figure out who will be the starting 3 on day 1.. could conceivably be any combo of Bond, Cook, Moore, Wingo, Bolden, and Golden. TE - 7. Love the tandem of Niblack and Helm.. but is Juan Davis or the young pup Washington ready for big minutes? T - 8. Banks and Williams both have 1st round potential. If something were to happen, you can fill in with Hayden Conner or promote Goosby. Have a super freshman Baker. Lots of options, but some of the younger depth could be exposed in communications against a shifting D front. G -8. With Conner/Umeozulu being flipable, you have built in depth. Campbell and Hutson... plus a more experienced Stroh and a better than expected Kibble? Again main concern would be communication with any injury. C - 8. Majors is set, we've seen Robertson come in at emergency C in the RRR. I feel good that he can fill in most games with minimal to no drop off. DE - 9. Crazy that this would have been a 2 around 3 years ago. Burke, Finkley, Vaskey, Sorrell, Moore, and superfreshman Simmons? Wow. DT - 6. Maybe it's unfair, as perhaps since the ceiling is lower than last year, the dropoff is much less. Question marks all over. Can Collins make the most out of his contract year, can Broughton be better against the run, how solid are Norton and Savea at the NT position?, can Lole stay healthy?, Bledsoe and Bryant progressing?, Sydir's actually fullfilling his potential? If most of these are positive then this could be a much higher confidence number. LB - 6. What happens if Hill is out for any time? Most irreplaceable player on team? Gbenda and Blackwell are good players, but what can we expect in Lefau's first year of increased minutes? Can Gullette contribute with his supreme athleticism? CB - 5. I think we feel decent with Muhammad and either Holmes or Cole, but after that? Mumammad may be the other most irreplaceable player on the team. I don't see Black as being ready this year for huge minutes. Same with Mack.. can Roberson take a big step? Can Wilson come in as a true FR with no spring camp ala Derek Williams last year? Nickel - 8. Love Barron. Have lots of faith in Guilbeau as the backup. Who's the 3rd backup? S - 5. Mukuba and Williams and.... ?? Taaffe is old reliable but isn't a difference maker. Can McDonald play big minutes this year? Can Filsaime make a big jump in summer practices? P - 2. I'm not even sure about Kern, much less who is behind Kern.. ? Ratliff is it K - 6. Hard to be concerned about kicker depth, but I have no idea what to expect from Will Stone if Auburn can't kick. PR - 9. I could see many guys play here.. Bolden seems most logical starter.. then Cook perhaps? KR - 9. Again, lots of options.. Golden is the obvious #1.. Blue could go beside him but hopefully not given his importance to the RB room. Nibblet anyone? Overall this is a very deep and talented team. Let's celebrate that and take our minds off of recruiting Ls of late.
  12. I would hope the staff in charge of monitoring the portal this year pays extra special attention to the Oregon roster. In addition to the possibility of Oregon staff changes we need to be on the lookout for roster discontent because of NIl inequalities. Bobby has mentioned that our staff doesn’t want to put out an outrageous offer to one recruit like Sharma as it could make others uncomfortable in the defensive tackle room. Well that has got to be happening at Oregon. Every wr isn’t getting 1.3 mil? Every DT isn’t getting 1.0 mil? Well maybe some birdies can be in contact with player representatives as the season winds down. Just sayin.
  13. Not that it matters now but wonder how much damage our friends in Norman did during his last trip there.
  14. I think we’ve been 6.0’d 😂
  15. Haha I noticed that as soon as I posted. Obviously i don’t know crap about what he is thinking. But using logic this is a plausible story no?
  16. I’ll tell you what’s going down. He’s choosing Texas. He has been the whole time. He sets a date knowing that Oregon is a gigantic thorn in the side of Texas and leaks positive vague vibes to Oregon. Oregon sees its chance puts max NIL on table. He bluffs to Texas saying well you know.. Oregons got me this amount of NIL. Texas won’t lose NIL on the recruiting jewel. Maybe it will on some defensive tackle whether we agree with that or not, but not the jewel. He accepts the counter offer but not publicly. Maybe makes some vague leak to the Oregon press that Texas is charging!!! Picks Texas. Cue the fight song. if I’m wrong I’ll eat crow. But if not, well played DKM. Well played.
  17. I think the most interesting question is if Rogers picks OU does that leave them out for Fasusi? The general thought is Rogers means we are not getting Fasusi but OU insiders insist they can make a Fasusi Rogers and Fodje class work. That means Fodje would move inside.
  18. I really don’t think so. It’s not like the other 3 schools for pettijohn aren’t actively recruiting high ranked lbs. usc has tagoa’i Osu has Targos Alford. Aggy has Noah mikhail. All 3 are top 100 kids.
  19. Agree that we have to keep recruiting all until there is a commitment. Pettijohn clearly had ample time to commit to us if he wanted. The fact that he didn’t suggests he has been concerned about playing time or a bigger nil deal. In that case perhaps pursuit of another big time lb could be somewhat deterring but I can’t imagine Nansen would just lower his prioritization of pettijohn. In the end I don’t see this as a bit of a problem as DT recruiting as top ranked linebackers don’t seem to pan out as high of a rate as top ranked DTs. However coupled with our other recent struggles it’s another gut punch.
  20. Yes but was that cause or effect? I’d be shocked if we were to put the foot off the gas pedal for someone we led for to go after someone where we would fight an uphill battle with an established favorite
  21. We’ve had some terrible luck here and not good contingency planning. Wish we could sum up all the nil we were going to give to brown Sharma and Charles and make some massive last minute offer to Justus terry or some other 5 star. Get one sure thing and then the jags to fill out the class.
  22. not sure if this was posted elsewhere… just a great sec shorts intro 🤘
  23. Thanks for doing the work. I know there is some optimism about terry but oregon has me nervous. That would be a massive change in your calculator. Hines seems unlikely. If we lose fasusi that will be a blow to the rankings potential. However the bigger issue is the lack of star power at DB and the lack of numbers at DT not the end ranking of the class
