Just wanted to throw some shout out to multiple players after thinking more about the game (no particular order) 1) Quinn - never question the effort. Yes he needs some better pocket awareness, but he kept fighting, and that flip to Wisner was one of his best plays ever as a Longhorn. Should always be appreciated by fans for what he has done for Texas. 2) Blue - tremendous as a catching RB. Could have pouted after losing carries to Wisner earlier in the year but balled out on the biggest stage. Hope he comes back next year. 3) Golden - our best WR all year, was clearly hurt but kept fighting to get back in the game and did. Tremendous season. Throw whatever NIL money we have for WR for him to come back. 4) Broughton - one of the biggest risers this year, had a great game. Thanks for sticking with it through the years and hope it ends up in a big NFL paycheck. 5) Norton - unsung, but he has had some big plays in the playoffs. Quietly a fantastic portal pickup last year. 6) Gbenda - great way to cap off the career. Played with 110% effort.. loved to see it. 7) Simmons -honestly I thought before the game that he won the national freshman of the year because Smith and Ryan Williams split the WR vote. He proved that he was the correct choice all along. Looking forward to 2 more years of this monster, who will be one of the defensive greats at Texas if healthy. 8. ) Taafe - what can you say about the scrappy kid that was a walk on and now an all american. He threw his body into harms way several times, and his emotion after the game is why college football is the best. Would love to have his veteran leadership for 1 more year, but you go do what is best for you MT. .. and also one for the coaching spot PK. He's getting flack for the screen to end the first half, but rushing 4 and having 7 in coverage was no reason for that to have gone to the house. Yes, there could have been a better call, but his bracketing of Smith tonight was masterful. any one of you would take 21 points by the tOSU offense if you were told that our defense held them to that number before the game.

We're still licking our wounds, but Sark needs to quickly refocus and reload on the portal and convince enough kids to come back for 1 more year, as possible. We lost tonights game due to having the tOSU DL beat our OL. Not scoring from 1st and goal from the 1 pretty much is emblematic of this issue. Well we play tOSU again in game 1 with new faces on both sides. I don't know the tOSU roster well enough, but I assume they will start with the young Sayin at QB, and still have tons of talent (Smith, Downs, etc..). How will we stack up? Offense scored 14 points but we will need to rebuild quickly as there are tons of questions on offense. QB - Arch hopefully will be ready for prime time RB - pray for Baxter's knee healing. Love what Blue did tonight and even if he comes back he is not a back that should be getting a lot of carries as a traditional RB. Gibson and Simon as larger RBs? Lots of question marks at this position to feel that we can actually run the ball next game against what should be another stout tOSU line WR - depends on if anyone is coming back that is draft eligible. Golden is the one to throw money at but he is likely gone. What a stud this year. Wingo, Moore, and who else will step up? The freshmen group is great but will be green. Another position with questions, but would assume Sark will figure this one out. OL - the biggest problem IMHO. No Banks, Major, Connor, and presumably Williams. We couldn't run it against tOSU with this group. Williams wasn't 100% of course.. would love to someone get him back but unlikely. Goosby will be great at pass pro but run? Hutson and Campbell should be okay, but no idea about Neto or Baker at this point. I see why we would look at the USC LG. TE - Hope Washington is ready. I have no faith that Niblack will be the guy, if even even chooses to come back. DE - Should be great with Collins the best player on the team potentially DT - still in the middle of the portal rebuild.. need 2 more guys for depth, but at best will probably be a push to this year at best. LB - another group that will be better, with an older Hill and Lefau, as well as Smith. CB and S - lots of losses here.. Don't think we hold Jeremiah Smith to 3 yards after losing Barron, Mukuba and Taafe. Still feel we need some portal depth. K/P - Need a portal K to compete with stone and bert if they are back.. lucky it wasn't an issue tonight. will be set at P with the Utah transfer Hopefully tOSU loses 15 players to the draft and they will be looking at similar questions, as I want to beat those guys for revenge in C-bus.

Just an observation Quinn called tails twice for the asu game but weren’t we the home team? Or did we become the visiting team in the eyes of the coin toss wearing the visiting colors? Will be the same at the cotton bowl?

Not untrue but certainly takes a special category of head coach that has to deal with this stuff. Can see why some just want to go to the nfl.

I feel bad for the coaches. They’ve worked their tails off this season. Have to deal with signing day and the portal open and close during a playoff run, and then finish a final 4 run… and now have to schmooze with 16 and 17 year olds at home on top of junior days before even getting a break. No wonder Saban retired.

Moore has really turned it on in the latter half of the season. Not that he wasn’t good in the first half but the second half guy has been so disruptive. Will be missed when he is gone.

Perhaps a clue that we are losing Moore to the draft.

I think you just have to be in the conversation for being elite every year. Georgia took years to finally conquer Bama and take the mantle. We may not win it all this year, but we are set up for long term success and kids want to come visit us. I see that per 247, the #1 safety out of Bishop Gorman wants to visit Texas now. We are getting kids from all over the country wanting to see what we are about, and that is how you build an elite program.

Well getting that beast of a RT that can throw defensive players back like rag dolls will help.

Haha. I see your point we are a long way from Dan Buckner and Jake Oliver. Maybe I’m too old school X Y Z receiver like baseball batting order 12345. But this is not what we have seen from Sark ever. Maybe he’s evolving to the sec big bodied receivers but his history says he loves the smaller Devonte Smith Waddle Worthy type of guys. Wingo may be an alien a cut below a Jeremiah Smith. Thomas has proven he can play in the SEC at least so I’m open to adding him. Just feel we need more variety if Bolden and Golden are gone. There is no guarantee Niblett will stay though he has been a culture guy for sure. Maybe Butler is the guy we think we need. Not counting on dubose ever contributing.

Like Thomas a lot but that’s a lot of big bodied wrs in Thomas, Wingo, Livingstone, Lockett and Ffrench. Assuming golden and bond leave we need at least one smaller shifty quick receiver.

Then there’s nussmeier’s bro at Flower Mound and Philip Rivers son. Wonder if we will go with a below the radar kid with Bell committed in 2026 like we did with Owens in 2024
