  1. Guess NIL drives a lot of recruitments these days. But not sure if a coach recruiting your kid comes into your house, known equally for his pot use and his Heisman trophy is a good look for a university. Still one of my favorite horns of all time though 🤘
  2. Gerry, Anthony Williams committed before Nansen was hired. From a recent interview it seemed that he wasn’t clear what was going on with his visits. Do we know that he is communicating with Nansen regularly and is he seen as a best case fit by Nansen? We have so many LB options this year though he has a ton of upside.
  3. I’m assuming you are taking into account which oos recruits are longshots. I would consider faheem delane and akylin deer to be in my best possible class. What about Ty Haywood? Does the staff just consider him not a fit?
  4. Found it funny the comment about golden not having top end speed. The guy ran a 10.9 100 in hs. We are spoiled if he is the slow guy in the room.
  5. I agree with this concern... not sure what NIL voodoo that they put on DK Moore to get him to commit so early.. but they have that capability. now they have momentum with the addition of Underwood, Berry, and the coach that produced our 2 star DTs.
  6. not sure if we had a choice for him going to lsu. funny also that we were complaining that bo couldn't recruit elite dts, but now we are concerned he is recruiting elite dts to lsu.
  7. We know he doesn't want to play LB, but does he have a preference for WR or Safety? This one seems like a Taylor Tatum feel at this point with OU baseball, unfortunately.
  8. with all the talent coming in on unofficial and official visits, i've started to think this could be one of the most interesting recruiting years ever. it seems like there is an abundance of talent options at every position... and though there are some clear leans / obvious fits to texas, there are so many possibilities with the OOS interest in texas.... moreso than in previous years given the OOS interest. examples: QB - lacey seems in then less in, and then in again... keelon russell coming in for a visit as plan B or plan 1b?? pretty good qb in his own right.. 247 ranks him higher than lacey WR - we want DKM, and k johnson seems close to a lock at this point. we are in decent shape with lockett, marsh, Harris.. french coming in for a visit TE - winston in.. seems like tea leaves indicating townsend more likely than armstrong whether that is more due to player interest or coaches interest i'm not sure. national te cure coming in for visit. who would we take if all want in? OL seems like fasusi is the big time target.. have we just given up on haywood (no interest or not a fit), rogers not really on the radar, we've lost fodji to OU but his teammate newman is a possibility. mills seems like a decent bet to be in the class, though same could be said about jackson christian and tyler thomas if we push. then all the other OOS prospects that are longshots like brooks from iowa and the georgia guys, but with flood's resume i wouldn't count anyone out unless they are a top OL from the southeast that georgia wants. LB - williams is in. pettijohn and barnes seem like takes all day.. we are getting matai togoa'i in for an official visit.. who knows with nansen as the LB coach, cunningham is a great player. DT - brown is basically uncommitted to me, but hopefully we can solidify him on his upcoming trips. too many offers to name and the rankings seem to be worthless this cycle at this position. unfortunately, all this talent that we can't get means tamu and ou will be getting studs in a year where we should be pulling more ahead... but it seems like we are destined for another top end class
  9. Al Davis concurs 😂
  10. Yeah sark coached John Ross in 2013. He ran the 4.22 in 2017.
  11. Pretty cool that x and Ross were both coached by sark. 2 fastest combine times ever edit: I need to check that. Reported by 247 Jeff Howe but not sure if the dates are right
  12. Makes me think of next year with bond, golden, bolden, blue all possible sub 4.4 guys
  13. So basically everyone thought Adonai was going to run an average time because he was playing next to flash the whole year 😂
  14. Would be great if we can get a visit from this guy. Type of te that Georgia usually gets though they already have the top guy committed this year.
  15. Even if aggy is 4-6 when we play them it will be a tough game. Probably top 3 on our schedule. That game will be like their jihad against UT in collieville.
  16. Watching the Chris simms interviews at the combine I’m surprised the guys have no knowledge of who he is (at least Murphy and Sanders). The arch manning equivalent recruit of 1999. I guess kids out of hs pretty much only know who was good in their middle school and hs years. And anything further back is ancient history. Glad we are on our way back and kids can view Texas as a cool school again. 🤘
  17. Interesting to see some of the early recruiting rankings outliers for 2025. Some of these may even out later in the year, but many will not (national rankings for 3 other major recruiting sites listed). Ty Haywood On3 11 (60, 101, 59) Michael Terry On3 14 (51, 69, 102) Smith Orogbo On3 26 (NR, NR, NR) DJ Sanders Rivals 33 (79, 147, 219) Kade Phillips On3 82 (NR, NR, NR) Adrian Wilson Rivals 54 (124, 145, 178) Michael Riles Rivals 58 (NR, 209,250) Andrew Marsh Rivals 29 (223, 43, 46) Kamauryn Morgan 247 69 (226, 199, 105) Dramodd Odoms 247 70 (96, 149, 227) Kiotti Armstrong 247 55 (204, 201, 64) Thoughts from those that have seen these guys play? Haywood is an OU lean, Sanders an Aggy lean? 2nd DE spot looks to be quite interesting in the state.. did we pump the brakes on Woodfork, who is technically ranked higher than some of the guys above, but has an injury history.
  18. Fun topic definitely. The skill talent is amazing. I do have some things that hold me back from getting too excited. Is the offensive line going to pass protect better than last year? Majors took a step forward I thought. We are waiting for the LG battle.. maybe Connor wins due to pass protection advantage over Neto? Is DJ going to figure out blocking assignments more consistently? Is Cam going to hold his own against the SEC pass rushers? Is Quinn going to get less happy feet in the pocket? Seems like he's made some progress, but too many self sacks last year. Is he going to develop a bullet pass for situations like we needed in the CFP game? Are the WRs going to block well enough? It took a while but we saw nice improvements from AD over the year. Sanders as well, but he was still not great at it. Nyblack should be a step down in blocking IMHO. Will the RBs stay healthy and avoid the fumble issues (I'm most worried about Blue given his size and his tough running approach).
  19. Texas is not an sec school until July 🤔
  20. Watching the Bert Auburn 3rd and longhorn interview, I was reminded that Ryan Sandborn was his holder this year. Who is going to be the holder this year? We had troubles with holds early in 2022 including the bama game. Would love to scare the crap out of the defense with Arch there but doubt that would happen.
  21. Love this. great to have well respected TX HS coaches on staff. Hope some day we can get Todd Dodge on the staff in some capacity after this next run at Lovejoy.
  22. Honestly I think the floor is always staying in the top 25, mostly staying in the top 15 (thus contending for the CFP every year), and when things align right making serious runs for the SEC championship and national championship.. we should have a few of these openings in the next few years (this year with an experienced QB and OL, perhaps in another 2 years with a seasoned Arch and mature 2023-2024 recruiting classes). I'd love to say going 10-2 every season is going to be the expectation, but outside of bama under saban and recently georgia with a weaker SEC east year in and year out (which will no longer be the SEC format), that is not the norm for the SEC.
  23. Would be awesome if Curtis could visit. I figured it was like an underwood type of throw out offer but if we could get him on campus who knows.
  24. With news that will griffin is returning for a spring visit the tea leaves seem to be showing that the staff is prioritizing these 2 guys for the 2026 qb spot. Thoughts on which one fits or system and which one has a higher ceiling?
