  1. He would be a huge pickup for UT.
  2. Great video Bobby. I agree that the NCAA needs fewer and more concise rules but more importantly rules that are easily enforceable. In addition, there needs to be a clear set of punishments for rule breakers.
  3. Hopefully he was able to sneak a Longhorn logo onboard and therefore claiming the moon for the Longhorn Nation. 😉
  4. If you have not looked into this YouTube channel, I highly recommend it. Lots of good discussion with current players and former players. Some insight you probably will not get elsewhere. This episode focuses on Bert. Enjoy.

  5. I think we can all agree that the NCAA, as it is today, has lost the respect of fans of all sports across America. It has lost several big court cases (and is likely to lose the Tennessee case) and apparently trying, without much success, to remain relevant. The sooner the NCAA gets its act together or is done away with by a new body controlled by the SEC/Big 10 the better college athletics will be.
  6. I am no expert but his film looks good, especially that third play where he pushes the olineman five yards into the backfield. He has good height and probably could get to 300+ pounds. Definitely needs further evaluation but he could be future take.
  7. Vasek’s injuries, while concerning, should not lead anyone to dismiss him or doom his career. There have been a number of players at UT (J Whitt and Jordan Shipley come to mind) whose early careers were beset by injuries and went on to have stellar careers (All American in the case of Shipley). As Gerry likes to say, all players are on different timelines. Some are due to injuries, problems with weight (either too much or not enough), and some need time to emotionally mature. Vasek’s HS tape was awesome and I believe once he puts these nagging injuries behind him, he will develop into a highly contributing player.
  8. This hiring shows the committment that Sark and the administration has to winning. The off the field staff is and should be as important as the on the field staff. For any large undertaking to be successful, it needs everyone involved to do their best. Hiring top notch, well qualified people does not guarantee succes but it does greatly improve the chances for success.
  9. One of the many things I like about OTF is that all the daily contributors seem so comfortable in front of the camera. Each person has something to contribute and expresses it clearly. This plus the depth and breath of knowledge clearly separates this channel from OB and all others who follow UT football.
  10. Not that my opinion carries a great deal of weight, but I really liked Griffin’s Hudl video. I trust Sark but I would love to see him at the 40 Acres.
  11. If we get 8 or 9 drafted and the others make a roster as an UDFA, that will be big with future classes. 2025, 2026, etc will see that the UT staff develops talent and puts its players in the NFL.
  12. UT Sr. vs UT Jr. I like it.
  13. PS, I stole this idea from Coffee and Football this morning. Bobby and Gerry both made great points. If you have not seen today’s episode, you are missing out on a great deal of info.
  14. While I am happy for a Lifetime Longhorn to get back to our beloved state, I do worry (at least a little) about recruiting against him. Of course I know UT vs UH recruiting is not on par.
  15. Which opponent do you think is the most important victory in 2024? Feel free to add why. I will go with OU, Georgia, A&M, Michigan
  16. Getting him on campus is huge. If we could pry him away from the West coast teams that would be a big, big win.
  17. On Coffee and Football the topic of non conference games was discussed. More specifically, should we include in our non conference schedule the Michigans and Ohio States. My opinion is quite simple…no. If we were still in the Big 12 then we would need great non conference opponents to elevate our strength of schedule. Since we will have teams like Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, etc on a yearly basis there is no need to boost our non conference games as we did when we were playing Baylor, Iowa State, TCU, etc. What do you think?
  18. How about another Mac Davis song? “Its hard to be humble when you are perfect in every way”.
  19. OTF should raffle off a road trip with Gerry all the proceeds go to the One Texas Fund or Gerry’s jerky fund. 🤘
  20. So far the Sark Way has created very positive results. Most of us realize that recruiting is fluid and there a series of ups and down any given cycle. In Sark I trust.
  21. There are stories out there suggesting that Seattle kept the news quiet till after the 30 day window closed, as a way of helping Alabama. No link for you because it is behind a paywall. However, a story about the move is listed below. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39494674/seahawks-hiring-ryan-grubb-offensive-coordinator
  22. Simms has always been mistreated or misunderstood by UT fans. I am not sure if it was all the hype surrounding him out of HS, him replacing fan favorite Major, that he did not perform up to expectations in several key games, or (probably) many Longhorn fans are just obsessive jerks. I truly hope that Sark brings him back upon the 40 Acres soon. Longhorn fans need to let go whatever anger (no matter how delusional) aimed at him and embrace him as a lifetime Longhorn.
  23. I think we all realize that all the “Arch is leaving” talk by the national media was just clickbait BS. I don’t see the Mannings in general and Arch is particular as people who would bail on a school just because he is not starting his FR year. Add to that his younger brother is enrolling at UT this Fall and I believe UT has an all aboard true Longhorn who will probably start for three years (after getting some quality mop up time this season).
  24. I love this kind of content. Keep up the great work.
  25. I may be an optimist but I believe that this will be a very good season which will result with a trip to Omaha.
