  1. I agree but my point was that those players hitting that particular RB are also 15, 16, or 17 year old players. They lack full physical maturity as well as the RB. Can those hits take a physical toll? Yes. However, I still would be more concerned about an elevated number of carries, and the possible damage done, at the college level as opposed to the HS level.
  2. That is a good point but not one that is a deal breaker IMO. I personally believe that level of carries and therefore the number of hits at the HS level is of far less concern than a similar number of a college player going pro.
  3. Some players are so talented that their ultimate position is murky. I have no problem with the ‘get them on campus and figure out their position later’ avenue for a very few players. JT Sanders was a good example of that. I am one among many who believe he could have been a fantastic DE.
  4. I like the way UT is handling this so far. However, once UT devises a plan (based on legal advice) they need to implement it with all haste and be aggressive.
  5. After watching the video, I am still waiting to see someone block him.
  6. The only problem I would have picking Oregon in the B1G is whether they can handle the extreme cold/wind/snow/sleet they will encounter in November at Ohio State or Michigan.
  7. Another great episode. OTF puts every other channel covering the Longhorns to shame.
  8. I would love to see AD in KC and Worthy in Atlanta. KC needs a top notch WR badly and teaming Worthy and Bijan would be fun to watch.
  9. I have watched every game so far and while I do not think that we should crown them NCAA Champs, yet. I do see a team that can be very good and should make a deep run in the playoffs.
  10. I believe he and Helms will be a very lethal combination.
  11. Great video. This ruling potentially can create a number of problems. Today if a HS player commits (or even signs a LOI) and gets a better offer, he can get out of it. If he signs a contract with a school’s collective, does that contract bind him to that school and if so, for how long? Who looks out the player’s best interest? In the past we have all seen college players going pro sign terrible contracts because they had a family member ( VY if I remember correctly) negotiating for them. Who will govern the collectives to ensure that the players are not cheated?
  12. I saw the championship game and he was fun to watch. As far as the question goes, I think it is too early to say that. If he leads his team to a fourth championship and he continues his domination, then I would say yes. For those of you who would argue he will never play D1 football or basketball, who cares. He has dominated his level of play like few others in any of the classification.
  13. Welcome to the newest website covering the Longhorns. If this site is anything like the OTF YouTube channel, it soon will the biggest site.
  14. Thanks for the info.
  15. While this period of time is generally rather slow as far as the team and recruiting goes, I do love the info about ‘25 and ‘26 recruits. It is a great time to hear about and discuss potential future Longhorns.
  16. I agree with UT taking a cautious route while the new ruling is being fleshed out. As Bobby said, Texas is far better prepared for NIL today than it was a few years ago. I do not know if the leader of the Tenn. collective is working in conjunction with the football staff or not but if this ruling becomes permanent then I fully expect UT and the Texas One Fund to do what is best for our players, program, and the university.
  17. He would be a huge pickup for UT.
  18. Great video Bobby. I agree that the NCAA needs fewer and more concise rules but more importantly rules that are easily enforceable. In addition, there needs to be a clear set of punishments for rule breakers.
  19. Hopefully he was able to sneak a Longhorn logo onboard and therefore claiming the moon for the Longhorn Nation. 😉
  20. If you have not looked into this YouTube channel, I highly recommend it. Lots of good discussion with current players and former players. Some insight you probably will not get elsewhere. This episode focuses on Bert. Enjoy.

  21. I think we can all agree that the NCAA, as it is today, has lost the respect of fans of all sports across America. It has lost several big court cases (and is likely to lose the Tennessee case) and apparently trying, without much success, to remain relevant. The sooner the NCAA gets its act together or is done away with by a new body controlled by the SEC/Big 10 the better college athletics will be.
  22. I am no expert but his film looks good, especially that third play where he pushes the olineman five yards into the backfield. He has good height and probably could get to 300+ pounds. Definitely needs further evaluation but he could be future take.
  23. Vasek’s injuries, while concerning, should not lead anyone to dismiss him or doom his career. There have been a number of players at UT (J Whitt and Jordan Shipley come to mind) whose early careers were beset by injuries and went on to have stellar careers (All American in the case of Shipley). As Gerry likes to say, all players are on different timelines. Some are due to injuries, problems with weight (either too much or not enough), and some need time to emotionally mature. Vasek’s HS tape was awesome and I believe once he puts these nagging injuries behind him, he will develop into a highly contributing player.
  24. This hiring shows the committment that Sark and the administration has to winning. The off the field staff is and should be as important as the on the field staff. For any large undertaking to be successful, it needs everyone involved to do their best. Hiring top notch, well qualified people does not guarantee succes but it does greatly improve the chances for success.
