Strange, most football nil is less than 1 mil. To give a softball player that kind of money makes no sense at all. If D Moore got 1.2 mil from Oregon and Texas was not going to match it, how can you explain a softball player getting that kind of money at TT? Love to know what the highest paid SB players at TX and OU are making to compare. Can't blame her for taken the money for sure.

Texas has done a better job in the portal for WR than in High School recruiting. It feels like Texas lands one big name and two good players that may take time, vs. big time players in the portal. Moore hurt, but if you get French and a good 4* your fine. This may keep some guys from transferring at WR for Texas. WR, DB you can make a living in the portal, DL you can't.

As bad as this week has been, I have to ask this question. Is Joe Biden been recruiting for Texas this week? After watching the debate it sure feels like it! Did Texas get cocky, or did they just figure we're Texas and they will come? The pitch for DM should have been, "you have the chance to leave Texas as the best receiver of all time. Two championship, and the 1st WR taken off the board in the NFL draft." Two years with the best QB in the country where you will put up video game numbers. Blaze that trail.

At least we have one of the triplets DL (walk-on). Maybe Texas should go ahead and give him a scholarship so it doesn't look so bad.

The only thing that could make this week worse, is Arch transferring to A&M.

Question, is Texas goal of being able to recruit nationally costing them really good in-state kids? Can this start to turn off TX kids? What happened to own Texas kids 1st then go after out of state kids? State of Texas has a great OL class, great DB class, good LB class, great WR class and still we are spending a lot of time recruiting out of state kids? Just asking.

You have to let it play out, there will be guys that have a great year and jump into the 1st round. Just like this last group.

So let me ask this question? 1. Does it matter if you have a top 5 class with what you can get in the portal? Do you need 4 WR in a class?, 6 OL, 3 LB? All of these guys cost some amount of money. Could you take 2 top WR and use some of the UIL money to spend on a DL guy? And if you need another WR get one in the portal? The same for all positions. I could be way off.

IMO I look at the new world of recruiting in two ways. The first is what is the best option for players in the portal, which means position wise. Second, what is must have in recruiting for high school players. Best gets in the portal WR DB TE LB QB RB Toughest gets in the portal DL Edge OT Easier gets in high school recruiting WR top 100 OL top 150 TE top 150 LB top 100 QB top 100 RB top 100 DB at least one top CB and safety Toughest gets for high school recruiting DL Edge DB more than 2 each position This is for Texas. As I look at my list it seems you can go out and get a really good DB in the portal ,so maybe not a huge worry if you miss on a guy? But you can't miss on a HS DL or Edge. Texas must spend more resources on interior DL. That means, all the Staff has to be involved, especially Steve Sarkisian. Can't be out spent or out worked by Oregon, LSU or OSU. IMO

With the longhorn Network we got a chance to see Texas volleyball, baseball, swimming, track, basketball and other sports. Will we the Texas fans be able to see all of the University of Texas volleyball games? Basketball games? Baseball games? If so, how would that be broken down live or tape delayed on the SEC network? ESPN? Was that part of the SEC meetings? Or will we miss X number of games from the non football sports?

I made a few phone calls to some friends in Hawaii and Japan and it looks like there is a sumo wrestler ready to play nose tackle for texas. His name is Ima Tua Biga, he 6'0 550lbs. The hold up is the NIL deal, he wants an all you can eat benihana buffet card and Texas may not be able to afford that.
