About Me
Grew up listening to Kern Tips on the Humble Radio Game of the Week while working on the car with my dad. Our family spans grads from 1951 to 2000 with grands on the way. Spent my whole life watching Texas Friday night lights and living in football towns. I grew up in Abilene which produced multiple state Champs in the 50s when I was a kid, in my late 20s, moved to Panhandle a 2A school at the time and Stocky Lamberson which ran off 13 straight district titles in the days when only one team advance, when I past 40 I moved to Sweetwater, where the mustangs played in the bowl, and they were perennial playoff teams and ran deep into the the playoffs despite being the smallest 4A school in the state lead by Hall of Fame Coach Tom Richey. Later, i moved to Kerrville and Johnny Manville country and once again i was treated to great high school football. Friday night were spent in the stadium watching our local kids. Saturdays are spent watching college. Now retired, with major health issues, I reminisce about football and life. Others know far more about technique and the finer points of the game, but I know a team player when I see one. I know a leader when I see one, and I think I know what it takes be a winner. A thrill here and there doesn't overcome mistakes. Discipline and effort are essential. Football is a team sport. Roschon Johnson is perfect example of what Texas football has to be. Hook Em!
