  1. Ewers missed that throw badly.
  2. Amazing. Third and short and you throw a quick route past the sticks to a back coming out of the backfield. And it works.
  3. So let's punt on first down and let the defense keep backing them up.
  4. Surprised they didn't review that spot.
  5. Hey, a good poet doesn't need to underline for emphasis.
  6. Well, if the game is mostly designed for a passing attack, and if the QB has made several underthrows to open receivers and hasn't been close on anything deep, and if the QB can't scramble, and if his lack of deep throwing threat makes us dependent on short dinky routes, then how is it not on Ewers that we aren't up another 10 points at this point? Ewers hit a couple of guys wide open downfield. His other long completions were on a slight underthrow that was tipped into our receiver's hands, and a tight end screen. I mean, this has been a very pedestrian showing by Ewers so far today. You could very well be right that Manning won't make us better in the second half, but you have to admit Ewers has not been sharp at all.
  7. Great design, execution and everything on that play.
  8. Catch ball, then turn your head, Gunnar.
  9. Usually. Keeping the ball above his toes is a good idea.
  10. Good things happen when we throw to Gunnar.
  11. Pass in the air too long.
  12. Three possessions, zeor first downs allowed, two three and outs and a pick. Defense getting it done.
  13. Whereas now we are on a pace to win 56-0.
  14. Sorry for the typo two posts up. That should read "median Thrill Score," not "media Thrill Score."
  15. Oh, yeah, the top thrill score of the day is 84 Colorado State vs. 61 Mississippi 3pm cst Game is being played in a suburb of Memphis, about 55 miles from Oxford, 74 if you drive it because there is a lake in the way. Google searching oxford southaven ms distance reveals a map showing a 4317 mile flight from the UK. I guess the thrill score includes the risk of Randi Trew showing up. Mississippi barely beat Grambling and struggled to put away South Alabama. It seems to have fixed last year's rebounding problem by adding Dia, but shooting has been poor.
  16. 11/16 Five games today, or should I say two games and three entirely one-sided exhibitions. 364 MVSU @ 27 Texas 4pm cst You don't often see Pomeroy go out on a limb and give a team a 100% probability of winning a game. Texas had a 99.2% probability of winning at tip-off against Chicago State. Today, the probability is 99.95%, rounded up on the conference page to 100%. Pomeroy's media "Thrill Score" for today's games is 28.6. Our game is at 6.1. I've said enough elsewhere about our poor scheduling, so I will only say I hope we see Vinson and Pryor play a lot today. 332 Stetson @ 45 OU 1 pm cst Thrill score 8.6 on this one, the second least thrilling match-up in the country today. Three years without an NCAA tournament appearance in Norman has Porter Moser sweating the season. Falling behind Northwestern State by 8 early in the second half probably should not instill much confidence, even if Sooners closed strong and won by 16. 328 Jackson State @ 85 Vandy 2 pm cst Vandy has 9 players averaging 15 minutes or more and no one averaging 25 or more. The rotation may start to compress a little now that Hoggard can start playing full-time. Vandy beat a decent Cal team by 16 in its last outing. Jackson State lost to a bubble team by 37, to Houston by 57, and to High Point by 9, but High Point isn't terrible. Vandy isn't a bubble team just yet, and it has been very poor at shooting from the arc, but Jackson State is terrible at defending any part of the court. 60 South Car @ 39 Indiana 2pm cst Ooh. Thrill score 55.3 here. South Carolina has the sort of schedule I envision Texas having. A couple of patsies, a couple of 200-250 teams, 4 games against 100-150 teams, 2 games against top 50 teams, and a neutral site tournament with 4 P5 teams, the worst being 107 Va Tech. And there are two true road games in there. Not a crushing schedule by any means, but a very good one. Maybe a more marquee opponent than Clemson as your biggest non-conference game would improve things, but I still think USCe's AD and Lamont Paris have scheduled very well. Yes, the Gamecocks lost to UNF, but they have plenty of opportunities to make that up with this game, games against Xavier aand Michigan (if they advance to meet each other in Fort Myers), the home game against Clemson, and a road game at Boston College. USCe lost three starters but still has a lot of returning players from last year's 6 seed team, and it added Nick Pringle from Alabama. If Jamarii Thomas can get his turnovers under control, this might be a pretty good team, but he's a small pg just promoted from Norfolk State. If Cam Scott thought he was a one and done, his first three games might have corrected his vision. He's shooting 4/19 on the season and played just 11 minutes in the last game. Indiana added Ballo, Myles Rice, and Kanaan Carlyle through the portal. This is its first game against anybody worth mentioning.
  17. To recap the conference yesterday: Purdue beat Alabama 87-78, using a 13-0 run over two minutes to erase a 6 point lead Bama had with about 10 minutes left in the game. Bama owned the boards in the first half, but Purdue took them over the last 10 minutes of the game. A&M beat tOSU handily. Game was never in doubt in the second half. A&M hit threes on its first two possessions of the second half and followed that with 4 free throws to run out to a 17 point lead. tOSU never got closer than 13 after that. Florida beat FSU by shooting lights out early, scoring on 10 of 13 possessions in a first half stretch, and closing with a 10-1 run after FSU had climbed to within 4. FSU made it a game by forcing Florida to commit 19 turnovers, but the Seminoles don't shoot well, didn't defend the paint well, and Florida could either score or get the offensive rebound and try again most of the game. Georgia won 77-69 despite shooting just .167 from 3. A game of runs in the second half. GT went on a 13-2 run to take a brief lead, but Georgia answered with a 14-0 run.
  18. Gard took over Wisky from ryan in 2015-16. His teams have hit the century mark twice since then. It is 99-86 Wisky with almost 3 minutes to go.
  19. 56 fouls called and 78 ft shot in the UA-Wisky game with 5 minutes to go. I'm glad I don't have Peacock and can't watch that mess.
  20. Since FSU is likely to lose everyone, its fans are trying to ease their pain by hoping other schools will also lose recruits.
  21. Georgia will win, but White will undoubtedly tell his guys how stupid they were to foul a driving GT player while up 9 with 11 seconds to go while grabbing the rim to make for a basket interference if the layup didn't go in. 77-69 final. A&M up 12 with 13:30 left.
  22. Arizona on a 20-6 run to cut Wisky lead to 4 early in the second half.
