  1. Red River at the cotton bowl is different. Never take it for granted. last year Texas came to the cotton bowl undefeated. We had a pretty intact team. Yet Texas lost to OU. this year Texas again comes to the cotton bowl undefeated, but pretty thin on RBs. OU is like a rabid wounded animal trying to survive. One game at a time, Texas needs to bring their best game. Period.
  2. I had a flashback during the ULM game when We noticed Blue carrying the ball a lot more than usual. It reminded us of 2022–a very young and Green QB with happy feet named Ewers who was calmed down by Sark by giving a lot of the snaps to a Star RB by the name of Bijon Robinson. Nearly brought tears (sentimental happy tears) to my eyes.

  3. Opposing Teams and their coaches obviously don’t want Texas in the playoffs let alone win. One way to attack Texas is to attack Quinn and affect his mental game. As much as I love Arch, I hope Quinn comes back 100% very soon.
  4. Can’t help but think that Sark tried hard these past 2 years to protect Arch from all the hype. Now that the Genie’s out of the bottle, I can see even Sark can’t shield Arch as much now that Ewers is injured and Arch is starting a game.
  5. Now I know why a lot of QBs didn’t want to commit in the 2024 recruit class. But it seems Trey Owens has the moxy to compete for Qb2 behind Arch…
  6. There’s a reason why Tennessee hasn’t given up many points so far—they have a pretty balanced team—including a very good defense. Which makes this game very intriguing to watch…I think this game will give Texas an idea how OU is this season
  7. Good job foretelling the future Gerry! (Except the part about Ewers getting injured, you did pretty good )
  8. Guess this makes up for the easy schedule OU had last year before joining the SEC…
  9. I had to remind myself that Arch is only 19 years old…amazing talent, and an even more amazing human being.
  10. I’ll be interested to see how Tennessee performs vs OU. I have no doubt OU will probably lose…but by how much? Tennessee clearly has the better offense, and I think Tennessee will know how to handle Venables defense, given who Tennessee’s head coach is.
  11. Is this an indictment on development of quarterbacks in CFB?? On the other hand, development of QBs by Sark and Longhorns and Ewers staying another year just got some credibility???
  12. Sark specifically mentioned D Moore during postgame conference. He said Moore had taken on more of a J Whit role to help out his teammates during this game. Ball didn’t find him this game. Love this kid.
  13. Why did this seem like ATM riding the coattails of UT in this CFB season…as if ATM was a little brother trying to gain attention because big brother UT had all the attention??? Maybe cotton holding should not have had ATM alum hosting this event—should have been neutral individual given the intense rivalry.
  14. If true this makes me sad because of what Sark’s already been through in his life. I also have to say… I hope this doesn’t distract Sark from what he needs to do.
  15. The real question is how much? There is no doubt DK Moore’s NIL bid went up at the 11th hour by Oregon. That plus marketing that made it simply too enticing for the young man to refuse. again wishing DK Moore well and hope his handlers had his best interest in mind when they convinced him to flip to Oregon.
  16. Sending this message to the recruits when they make a silent commitment to Texas, and then are inundated with rival negative recruiting…😊🤘🏼
  17. I wonder what made Arch change his mind?? Love this commercial 🤘🏼

  18. Appreciate the warning Gerry. As always appreciate the hard work you guys do. Hook’em
  19. Wow! Strong work coach Schloss and crew!! Hook’em!!!
  20. In the words of coach Choice: Texas is not for everyone. despite NIL, great program all around, best AD in the nation…sometimes a kid just wants to go somewhere far from home. Oregon sold him the yellow brick road and he bought what they were selling. finally—these young kids owe no loyalty to any coach, team or program. Theyand their managers are going to figure what’s in their best interest and go with that. time to move on from DK Moore.
  21. I watched all of the OTF interviews. What struck me about DK’s interview was although he complimented 1 WR…he also dissed another—by name. Not a good look if you’re wanting to preserve your culture in the locker room. Now fast forward to his Oregon commitment speech, it was clear DK knew he was THE Dawg with an ego to match. This kid had in his mind what he’s worth and his people were able to negotiate NIL for it at Oregon. The $$$ was worth more to him than what Texas had to offer—IMHO. Nothing wrong with that, and I wish him the best. Now I’m thinking maybe Texas dodged a bullet on this one?? 🤘🏼
  22. Why are we even asking about his NIL?? goodness. Be glad he committed to Texas and move on please.
  23. First of all these young kids don’t owe coaches or teams any kind of loyalty. Clearly money talks. Maybe Bobby and Gerry can speak to this, but it was my impression that these kids also have some sort of representation/manager to negotiate NIL. They also have family giving the kids opinions. so, given this era of NIL and Portals, I think to save ourselves some angst we have to start with believing that what the kid does is probably more important than what the kid says. I definitely learned this lesson. finally, yes Texas is probably going thru growing pains especially given this is the first year in SEC. Once the season starts, let’s see how Texas does. If we are successful, then the recruits will come.
