    I am so reminded of Arch’s performance during his junior year in High school. He seemed off and inconsistent. then something happened…he may have broken up with a girlfriend and learned to love football again…I don’t know, but Arxh was on fire his senior year in high school breaking school records. i think it’s the same here. Wherever he ends up next year, if it’s in college football…he will be better.

    Maybe now Texas will begin to play like they have nothing to lose instead of playing conservative football trying their best to “prevent” a loss.

    Someone said that OU is so bad this season (except their defense) that the only way Texas could lose was if Texas gave the win to OU. Well all 3 phases of the team gave the game to OU on a silver platter. There were so many head scratching self-inflicted wounds and painful turnovers with this one. Also..I hate Texas games played right after a bye week. They seem to lose or barely win a game they should have lost. however the AP poll ranks Texas after this loss…is anybody’s guess, but Texas went into this game with LOTS of pundits saying Texas doesn’t play like a number 1 team. Will Texas even be in the top 15 after this?

    I always enjoy post game reflections from the opposing team’s fans. (Post 2023 Texas defeat of Alabama was particularly delightful) this YouTuber at “win now or get bent” had lots of good things to say about Longhorns. Pretty measured take on the game.

    Ok… I need an Orthopedic surgeon to tell me Gooseby will play this season—that he will be ok. Next, I need a psychotherapist to calm me down, pull me back from the cliff and tell me I will be ok this CFB season. Finally I’m on my way to Costco to buy out their stash of Tums. 🤣😳🤣 (the first scary news is always the worst…)

    With billions at stake for College Football Programs…IMHO the NCAA is clearly outmatched FINANCIALLY by financially backed college football programs. The NCAA cannot pay for high priced attorneys who have the time and financial resources to challenge NCAA rulings. Tell me—how can the NCAA even compete??

    NCAA needs better lawyers who can go head to head against high priced attorneys funded by Billionaires (ie Campbell). So far, NCAA legal team has been toothless against challenges from high priced attorneys representing college football programs

    Personally I am not worried about recruitment rankings. NIL and the portal has been a massive game changer. Indiana won the Natty using more mature recruits taken from the portal with less NIL $$$.(but I think in future this will be harder for Cignetti to replicate every year) Sark and his team will recruit based on THEIR evaluations of high school recruits regardless of how they rank nationally. Any other needs for key positions will be filled through the portal. So team recruitment rankings aren’t really that important IMHO

    As if LSU didn’t have enough clickbait material with Kiffin. However, Kiffin needed an answer to Sark’s hiring of Muschamp and recruiting. Ogeron seems to be his answer. (Wasn’t there a general consensus during Arch’s recruitment, that the Mannings didn’t like LSU largely because of Ogeron…?) Texas at LSU this CFB season just got more interesting.

    By the way—one of your segments featured Gary Patterson and what he’s been up to. And one of the Mods suggested He would be great as DC in a place like USC…well I think USC listens to OTF—because I just saw a reference to GP’s name added as USC’s new DC on X.

    Enjoy coffee n football length especially when getting ready in the morning. During the day would appreciate much shorter segments (no more than 15 minutes? Since I don’t have much free time during the day to listen) after hours—the longer segments with Rod, Coach Shipley, CJ , and Jeff are pretty entertaining.

    I don’t know…maybe because of how the 2023 CFP ended with Michigan* perfect season as National Champion , Indiana’s 2025 season seems just too perfect also. I admit to a fair amount of skepticism, but if Indiana was able to cheat the system fairly, then good on them. Congratulations

    On a day like today (Sunday January 11,2026) it’s worth mentioning: Alabama, smarting from their loss to Texas in men’s Basketball…today lost their high prospect in Cam Coleman to Texas…and 45 minutes later Alabama lost their high end RB Hollywood Smothers to Texas. (I know how they feel…like 2 yrs ago it seemed Oregon was taking all Texas high prospects/commits)

    Regarding Indiana and their lack of 5 star athletes and the least amount of 4 stars in the playoffs: Gerry has said many times that stars vary across the board and shouldn’t mean as much as true evaluations . Unless I misquoted Gerry, I tend to believe Gerry’s statement. Give him a corn dog with mayo!

    Justice Haynes is Longhorn Stalking. Because he’s only publicized his “intent” to enter the portal. Let’s see how much$$ Michigan ponies up to try to keep him from Texas. And then Haynes suddenly withdraws his intent to enter the portal. (I’m learning the smoke and mirrors of the portal)
