  1. @Jeff Howe couldn’t be more thrilled you’ve joined OTF!! I’m a rabid fan of yours (Matt and Rod too lol) since I first discovered the Blitz in 2012!! Love your takes and excited to read and hear what you know about our beloved longhorns!!
  2. Or, two years in a row that we were that close to playing in the national championship game. Versus 13 years straight since we were even in the game. It’s called perspective. What is your requirement for a contract extension or a raise? Please enlighten me with what you consider “earning the yacht”?! More perspective for you, the two national championship teams this year got to the game transfer quarterbacks who had been starters for their previous teams for multiple seasons. Even more perspective, both teams in the national championship didn’t lose their entire backfield, WR corps, and TE from the season before. Last bit of perspective, Ryan Day earned an extension in May 2022 and still hasn’t beaten Michigan 2019 and 2 CFP appearances and 0 national titles Do you see how perspective helps us better define success and build a team capable of winning a championship?

  4. I’ll cite the offensive output of the last 2 seasons specifically: ~36 point per game, ~450 yards per game, 1000 yards rushers from first year starting running backs, and a 25-5 overall record along with 2 college football playoff appearances in back to back seasons. Just because we haven’t won the national championship, yet, doesn’t mean Sark is just collecting a paycheck and not delivering. The players, the culture, the player DEVELOPMENT, the coaching consistency, and the WINS are all directly connected to Sark.
  5. Not much doubt in my mind that Texas would’ve beaten the Irish convincingly tonight had we pulled that game out 10Jan25. If nothing else we did a phenomenal job containing the juggernaut that tOSU’s offense became during the playoffs?! It’s funny to me hearing the announcers talk about how tOSU rolled through all these elite defenses, but actually they only rolled through 3. Their defense out played our defense, but their offense was average against us at best. Let’s run it back next year, I hope our defense is even more focused and driven to dominate like we did this year and our offense is inspired to play consistent complimentary football. To be fair to ND it would’ve been uglier probably with our disappearing act our offense plays, but ultimately the result and spread would’ve been about the same IMO. HOOK’EM!
  6. OU, Arkansas, ATM: 3-0 all double digit wins all on the road (or neutral). The Texas DEFENSE! Jahdae Barron having a dominant season winning the Thrope, Silas Bolden fumble recovery, Gunnar Helm, Quinn and Arch, 4& freakin 13, Matthew Golden, Tre Wisner, the Texas DEFENSE (again), Alfred Collins, Vernon Broughton, Clemson and ATM goal line stand, basically everything except the first UGA game, Burt Auburn’s misses, and the last 30 seconds of the 2nd quarter and 2 mins of the 4th quarter against tOSU. Great season, incredible team, sad we lost, even more saddened we didn’t get one last game with this incredible group of young men!! Hook’em 🐂🤘🐂🤘
  7. We’ll get to see him holding against us rather than for us. I was really hoping things would click for him here, but unfortunately just didn’t. Hope he has a good season and the Aggies have a bad year next year lol.
  8. Hey hey now ATM machines were in there 3 times. 2 times of you don’t count our game with them same as Clemson and SMU 😂😂😂. This is clearly Texas and the national media bias against ATM machines success
  9. Boneheaded reaction for sure!! What was with that?!?! At first I thought he was celebrating because he forced a fumble and thought the Texans recovered.
  10. Haha we’ll have to agree to disagree! I loved it when he would chime in. I thought he did a good job breaking down complex stats and how they apply to the games. I also really like his herring takes.
  11. Yes!! We need him, Matty B, and Rod to revive the Blitz OTF style y’all!! Let’s do this!
  12. If T. Choice leaves Stan Drayton is back on the market. Would love to have him back at Texas!
  13. I would like them both to lose. I guess I’m pulling for the Buckeyes…just because I don’t know if I can handle the swooning that would happen if Notre dame won. Plus it would give them validation for being a stupid independent and not having to play by conference rules like everyone else.

  15. More Ronnie W for yall!! Love this guy! https://www.facebook.com/reel/1397215427796343?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v
  16. There are a bunch of great books about baseball Men At Work by George Will is a good one. Really anything he’s written about baseball is great. Watch some YouTube videos of Ted Williams, Tony Gwynn, George Brett, or Pete Rose talk about hitting. Watch some videos of Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Nolan Ryan, Bob Gibson, Bob Feller, or Pedro Martinez talking about pitching. Ozzie Smith, Ernie Banks, Willie Mays, Johnny Bench, Pudge Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Joe Morgan, Mike Schmidt, Cal Ripken Jr., Ron Washington, Terry Francona, Joe Torre, or Dusty Baker talking defense and strategy. Here’s a video of a Tony Gwynn hitting drill. https://www.facebook.com/reel/3856983741280953/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v Here’s my man Ron Washington teaching infield https://www.facebook.com/reel/303501322456812?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v
  17. The opportunities are proportionally available, as in any athlete can seek any level of NIL, however the interest and availability of those opportunities is based on the return on investment. If you pay a QB 2 million for instance the expectation is the revenue generated from that player and the program success will be returned many times over. Unfortunately, football and men’s basketball are about the only sports that generate the revenue to justify such large payouts to star players.
  18. NICE!!! Loved watching both of these guys. Too bad Butch had such a rough last part of his Texas career what a talent!! My first favorite was Tony Jones!!!
  19. Great kid, full of hustle and heart. Wish we would’ve seen more of him in space on screens etc especially after Bond injury. Future is bright for this young man on and off the field!!
  20. Arch is ready for his chance. I think he can understand better than most the expectations heaped on him because of his family’s experiences. The difference between Arch and Quinn is Arxh doesn’t have another “generational” talent sitting behind him waiting to come in and perform that the fans are frothing at the mouth to see. I really hope our defense is able to continue their growth and dominance into next season. Having that fierceness on the defensive side will allow the young buck and new o line to operate with less pressure to perform and play freely. If we can play complimentary football and the offense doesn’t disappear for quarters at a time we’ll be as tough as anyone in the country to beat!
