    OTF scoop: SMU commit sets Texas OV

    SMU DL commit Amari Vickerson tells OTF he's set an official visit to Texas for June 12-14. 

    The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder from Cy Ranch is the son of Kevin Vickerson, who had a lengthy NFL career.

    2028 QB Graham Simpson likely visiting this summer | Wed. 6:33 p.m.

    Texas offered 2028 4-star QB Graham Simpson earlier this year. He's the younger brother of soon-to-be first round NFL Draft pick Ty Simpson. 

    Simpson told me at the time: 

    "This one meant a lot. I mean, if you were watching college football for the first time and you wanted to know who the true blue bloods were, Texas is one of them. I mean, the Vince Young’s and Colt McCoys, they are two of the greats, and getting an offer from them is definitely a dream come true."

    I exchanged messages with Simpson's dad today, who told me

    "I’m sure we will be back in Austin in June." 

    They've been to Texas twice. Once for Alabama/Texas in 2022, and Simpson camped last summer.

    Any chance you, CJ, Gerry and Bobby (or some combo thereof) could give us YOUR mock draft predictions for the Longhorns eligible to be drafted?  The actual slot (not just round) the 6 - 8 guys assumed to be selected this year?  I see the top six on almost every draft board, then Burke and Guilbeau are the two that are iffy on most boards.

    CJ did that last year and he nailed eight of them pretty closely (within half a round), was way too optimistic on the same two everyone else missed on (Quinn and Cam Williams) and was too pessimistic on Vernon Broughton (like most everyone else).  But overall he did well. 

    What do you say?  Up for the challenge?  The OTF staffer who comes closest wins the coveted Mel Kiper 2026 Award.

    I'm down to try that. Will bring it up with the team.
