Wow. I have never thought about this. Gilbert was my first QB and it makes sense. I feel bad for him being thrown in the fire vs Bama definitely messed his career up. Do not get my started with the Quinn hate, it is probably the most mind-numbing, braindead thing I have ever seen from a fanbase. They are acting like we are 5-7 when in reality he led us to two semi-finals appearances. Unfortunately, the loudest members of a fanbase are usually the ones who are "Casuals". I understand the Quinn haters are mostly the bandwagons we now have that just want a Manning to play. I felt that way about last years team. Imagine the backfield with both Bijan and Jonathan Brooks. It would have been nice to have him in the later stretch with Brooks getting injured. Even a Demarvion Overshown to be a leader for the linebackers/ secondary would have been huge.

What are the hottest takes yall have had throughout your time as a Longhorn fan regarding Texas Football that most Texas fans would probably disagree with. i'll Start, If David Ash never had the injury problem he did, he would have been a top 5 QB in history for the program and Texas would have gone to at least one NY6/BCS bowl game.

Other than 4th and 13 and beating A&M, I gotta say seeing Texas ranked number 1 earlier in the season. I had never seen them ranked #1 and finally seeing it for the first time was an amazing feeling.

For the game: David Gbenda- Having a big INT and a huge stop on 3rd and 1 from a quiter than expected season, ended it right. Will Stone- Although only PAT's were kicked, he came in and did his job as perfect as possible. Jaydon Blue- From a very off and on season with quality of play, he gave us horns fans a great finally to remember him by. For the season: Quinn Ewers- Allowed me to experience what Texas football is like when competing for a national championship. Starting with GIlbert, Thank you Quinn for leading us out of the dark ages. Matthew Golden- Matthew Golden ended up being more than I expected Isaiah Bond to me, he was another AD Mitchell and I loved every second of it. And many others

What if Derek Williams Jr. Never went down with injury 2. He is the most under-appreciated QB in the history of this program. I can’t stand when i see people all over twitter who know nothing about the sport try and blame everything on Quinn and even former NFL players like Dez Bryant last night and Shannon Sharpe all damn season. Yes Arch is exciting, but holy crap the fact manning is his last name makes everyone think he can come in and play like prime Vince Young. These fans either have bad memory or are just so spoiled considering the fact for 13 years we were mediocre at best and were lucky to make the Alamo Bowl and now Quinn has brought us to Back-2-Back 12+ win seasons and 2 straight CFP Semi-Finals.
