  1. He hasn’t snorted his weekly powdered mayo yet. Once that happens, we won’t hear from him until Tuesday.
  2. All the pundits, the fans, the haters who all built him up and then tore him down are completely disingenuous. It was THEIR confirmation bias that led them to make unrealistic, unfair predictions about Arch. I bought into it to some degree as well after seeing him light it up last year. But it was sheer stupidity that led all of us to believe Arch was somehow immune from the same learning curve that literally every single QB has ever had to experience. Sheer stupidity. And it’s sheer arrogance (and stupidity) that’s now leading the same people to tear him down. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it makes zero sense to pre-judge Arch’s cfb career until the end of 2026.
  3. What ridiculous narrative are haters like Danny Kanell and Tom Fornelli (“somebody please knock Texas out so that I don’t have to watch them in the CFP”) going to concoct when Texas beats a top-10 team and just keeps winning? 24-14 Texas
  4. Lane has a little bit of that Pirate in him and I am here for every minute of it, especially when it comes at the expense of Mr. Burnt Vegetables Skeletor and his toothless band of meth heads.
  5. He has a little bit of that Pirate in him.
  6. If we’re being real, Sark is probably coming to the realization that he can’t be the coach he wants to be in college and win at the highest level. He’s always said he’s “obsessed” with the job, but the lack of attention to this roster in the offseason suggests a strong whiff of complacency. I think he’s probably realizing that he’s taken this program as far as he can. And if we’re being real, he probably has. I’m grateful for Sark—he brought this program back to near greatness. But we might need fresh blood to get to the promise land. Marcus Freeman is definitely the answer if we can get him.
  7. Sark isn’t even in the same league as Pete Carroll. If Sark was Pete Carroll, he might already have 1-2 natties.
  8. This might be the most disturbing thing he said: “But at the end of the day, it's like we can have high scoring games and I could air it out and lose.” Ah, yes. The brilliant strategy to not score points because we could lose if we scored points. This dude is in such deep denial about how badly he’s screwed up this season. An elite defense is the only thing separating this team from a losing record.
  9. CJ watching Mateer on that first drive
  10. Looks like Gerry’s Cuban doppelgänger, Geraldo.
  11. Matt Rhule was so focused on prepping for his Penn State interview that he inadvertently played himself out of the running for the job.
  12. Nebraska at Minnesota tonight. Bobby must be furious.
  13. If Texas limits pre-snap penalties and stops the run, I’ll go 31-10 Texas. If not, 20-17 Texas.
  14. @Jeff Howe I think this analysis is spot on, and it makes me nervous about this Saturday. The last time we saw this OL on the road, it was ugly. I think we could see a bunch of pre-snap penalties on offense that just kill drives. And I’m not sure I’m totally sold on the run D after the Florida debacle. McGowan is a good back. This might be a pretty ugly game, and I am not sure whether this team is prepared to win in ugly games on the road. Hope we see some growth!
  15. Blake is just a large mute button.
  16. I would add that the possible 5-year eligibility rule that they discussed this morning on coffee and football could be a game changer in terms of retention. If Texas can bring back DJ Campbell for a 5th year, it means you don’t have to go into the portal and pay $2 million for an elite interior OL (if that even exists in the portal). It means you potentially have your entire OL back. That could completely alter the portal strategy and the shape of next season.
  17. I’ll never trust a man who lines his arteries with mayo and shame.
  18. It seems like the coaches had already started shifting Gibson’s carries to Simon anyway, so a pretty natural reaction.
  19. If that happens, Texas needs to go all-in on Baugh, regardless of all the RBs in the pipeline.
  20. We all love it here because from the beginning it’s just been a bunch of folks who want to talk about Texas sports without any drama or conflict. That’s what makes this place special (along with the best-in-the-business content). I think 99% of users fully support this message and your board moderation policies, Bobby. Keep up the amazing work!
  21. There is no doubt that Sark built something special that was on the verge of being a machine like Ohio State and Georgia. But it’s also extremely clear that Sark got complacent amid all his success, and he took it for granted that it could just keep rolling on auto-pilot. His complacency led to hubris and arrogance, which led him to not self-evaluate, particular on the offensive side of the ball. He implicitly trusts guys like Flood and Banks, and he let them coast, which led to dramatically underperforming on offense and special teams. He thought his roster was set, ignoring the red lights in the offseason and the incredible team youth, and did not adequately address needs in the portal. I also wonder if becoming a dad has affected his drive and obsession that shaped his first 4 years at Texas. That’s not a knock against him—my productivity nosedived when I became a dad. But if so, it really shows how bad he was at delegating control. Regardless of the answer, he’s going to need to do a lot of soul searching and self-evaluation after the season.
  22. Yes, but at this point I don’t think we only lose 2 games. If this o-line doesn’t get any better, we are losing 4 games. We might lose more if the defense is this bad again. To be honest, THAT was the most shocking part of this loss for me. I expected us to struggle against that Florida D—not in a million years would I have expected us to look so terrible stopping the run and explosive pass plays. Finally, WHERE IS THE PASS RUSH???? Most of us thought this team would be the most explosive pass rush defense at Texas this century. They have been completely absent.
  23. I was originally going to pick something like 38-13, but I chickened out and went 9-6. Talk about extreme waves of emotion leading into this game…
  24. Texas 9-6. It’s gonna be wet and sloppy in the swamp.
