  1. But seriously, my predictions: 1. Arch wins Heisman 2. C Simmons is going to smash modern (post-2000) Texas sack records and goes for 15+ sacks. 3. Goosby is first team all American 4. At some point, Cooper has to play extended snaps and proves he can be a workhorse at RB. By the end of the year he is taking significant snaps. 5. Texas offense is top 5, but defense is a step down (top-30) but will be very explosive 6. Masunas has a better year than Endries did
  2. My bold prediction: Joe Z will bring up Kyle Flood at least 250 times from now until the end of next season.
  3. Somehow, this all leads back to Kyle Flood.
  4. They said 2 for sure, maybe 3.
  5. I know some have mentioned Laurence Seymore as a possibility at guard. Seems like exactly the level of impact we’d want—very experienced, all-conference and second team all America at a lower classification last year. Any indication why we wouldn’t be all over this guy? Probably the best IOL left in the portal by a mile.
  6. FWIW OB is reporting that they expect Texas to sign an OL this week and that they are in conversations with another OL currently in the portal who might have some academic issues to resolve, but that could be a summer enrollee. No word on who they might be talking to behind the scenes.
  7. Hero Kanu to Bray if Texas faces Indiana in the playoffs
  8. The 2026 OL is a dramatic upgrade over the 22 OL in terms of age, experience, and overall ceiling. Goosby as a fourth year junior should be better than Banks as a true freshman, even as great as Banks was. Goosby is first team all-America level good. Robertson as a fifth year senior is probably a push, maybe a slight downgrade, with Majors as a third year sophomore. Siani is an upgrade over Christian Jones, but it might be close. Baker as a junior is miles beyond Campbell as a true freshman. Sikorski will be older and more experienced than a true freshman Hutson, who was also pretty terrible that year. Honestly, it’s really not even close.
  9. It’s currently a chilly 60 degrees in LA. 😎Stay warm out there!
  10. @Gerry Hamilton taking a look at the monster he’s created, sick of the OL complaints, and abandoning the portal threads forever:
  11. So this is what it’s come to: @Joe Zura turning tricks for a competent guard.
  12. <insert comment from grouchy OTF subscriber asking whether the baseball team has anyone who can play guard>
  13. Big 10 only wants 24 teams because they are so weak outside of their top 3-4. It’s the only way they can get more teams in. Pathetic.
  14. It seemed like they preferred Jordan Church and were trying to bring him in for a visit, but were too late. I had no problem with the swing for the fences strategy, but by the time the portal was almost closed, it should’ve been time to cut their losses and go all-in on a second-tier guard like Church. I think they overplayed their hand. Too focused on landing a big fish and not agile enough in pivoting.
  15. I don’t think it’s fair to paint the whole $1 crew with a wide brush. The frustration that I think some have (and that I had initially) is that OTF started out as a fairly small, tight-knit community with a culture that was generally more easy-going and amiable. For many of us, that’s a big reason we left other sites like IT and OB—to escape the toxic board culture. Almost immediately after the $1 special started, there was an influx of users from those other sites who seemed to embody their toxic cultures. It’s clearly not fair to attribute that to everyone. And you’re completely right that growth is good because, ultimately, this is a business. Many of us are just protective of what we have here. But no reason for us to also not be welcoming and embrace a growing board. So, welcome!
