  1. Texas has extended an offer to 2027 five-star EDGE Richie Wesley. Wesley, a 6-foot-5-inch, 250-pound edge rusher, attends Sierra Canyon in California and is currently ranked as the No. 3 overall player in the country in the early composite returns. The Longhorns become the 18th school to extend Wesley an offer as the Texas staff continue their five-star search on the recruiting trail at the moment. Offers for Wesley Arizona State Cal Colorado State Florida State Georgia Miami Minnesota Oklahoma Oregon San Diego State SMU Tennessee Texas A&M UCLA USC Washington Washington State
  2. Sorrell is great and typically will talk to whoever for as long as is asked of him. One thing I will always appreciate about him while I covered him. Funny you ask, because there are times where, and especially in the offseason, players will see me at an event or camp and there be a look of surprise that we made the trip. There's a mutual respect in there.
  3. Only two 1v1 reps for Sorrell. The one above and another where he bull rushed the LT quick into the lap of the QB.
  4. Sorrell in team period. IMG_7409.mov
  5. Barryn Sorrell, the lone Longhorn, beginning his practice session now. Rocking No. 4 this week.
  6. I asked Arkansas EDGE Landon Jackson what advice he has for his brother, Lance, who just moved to campus in Austin to begin his college career. "Just keep your head down and work in his first year. Get on the field any way possible."
  7. Couple standouts so far from the National Team: Miami TE Elijah Arroyo NDSU iOL Grey Zabel Oregon WR Tez Johnson Marshall EDGE Mike Green
  8. Arkansas EDGE Landon Jackson is out here today, he came in at 6–7 and 275 pounds. I also think Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel will be a fine NFL QB. He’s played a lot of football in his career and I expect that will carry over to an NFL team taking him earlier than expected.
  9. I’ll be able to save the trip, might have something in the works for tomorrow at least. Barryn Sorrell still deserves some coverage.
  10. Also worth mentioning RB Jaydon Blue withdrew from the Shrine Bowl in Dallas which kicked off on Sunday.
  11. South Alabama has a sweet stadium. Probably holds 25,000 people but is the perfect size for this level event.
  12. Mobile, Alabama — the home of the 2025 Senior Bowl and where j will be lying my head for the next couple of nights. Originally, five Longhorns were expected to participate for the week of workouts and on-field activities in front of scouts, coaches and executives ahead of the NFL Draft in April. However, only Barryn Sorrell is listed on a Senior Bowl roster at the moment. Andrew Mukuba, Alfred Collins, Gunnar Helm and Vernon Broughton had all accepted invitations to the Senior Bowl, though due to the length of the Texas senior, they will not be active this weekend in Mobile. Regardless, I will keep this thread active for updates on opponents Texas faced this season, as well as how Sorrell is performing in front of the NFL scouts.
  13. EDIT: Disregard. Kanu is not expected at A&M Tomorrow.
  14. Big update here. Texas did not host a TE on the visit day today by my knowledge.
  15. New offer extended to 2027 Kingwood OL Kennedy Brown.
  16. Really big fan of Tre Moore. 6–3 Pflugerville WR who received an Alabama offer this week. Heck of a talent.
  17. Borba had a really solid scrimmage by the way.
  18. Yeah, that's the obvious takeaway when you hear the bats had a good day. However, per Schloss, this is the first time he has allowed his staff to go more than 2 IP during the offseason. The build up will help the Longhorn pitching staff over the next three weeks, but really the first extended look for a lot of these guys.
  19. Aggressiveness on Base Paths This caught my attention, really from both angles, during the scrimmage. Texas stole three bases, one of which on a ball in the dirt, but there was also several back-pick attempts and Luke Harrison ended up picking off a runner to end an inning as well. INF/OF Jayden Duplantier stole 3rd base off of Jared Spencer. Duplantier was the lead runner of a double steal, though was the only one to follow through with the steal. 3B Casey Borba stole 2nd base off of Jared Spencer. C Cole Chamberlain stole 3rd base off of Jason Flores. The Texas defense also attempted several back picks. Some from the pitcher, some from the catcher spot. Really aggressive all over and Schloss actually spoke about that during his time with the media as well.
  20. Pop in the Lineup This was a big case from the last few years for Texas Baseball, and at times it became a detriment when facing super elite arms. But there is plenty of power in the lineup for Texas. Just through the four innings I watched, I would have to assume the team OPS was north of 1.500, it was that ridiculous. Some highlights from the plate: C Rylan Galvan – HR to LCF ... 423 feet CF Will Gasparino – HR to LCF ... 426 feet, 105 EV INF/OF Jayden Duplantier – HR to LCF ... 100 mph EV, 396 feet 3B Adrian Rodriguez's at bats above. ^^ LF Easton Winfield – RBI 3B off base of the LCF wall. 353 feet. 1B Jaquae Stewart – 103 mph EV liner up the middle ... ball actually hit Luke Harrison who recovered for the out. There were two additional at bats with EV's over 103 mph that ended up as line outs. Actually chased down rather well by Texas outfielders. The make up of this lineup is going to be really fun with Flores, Beyleu Gasparino, Rodriguez, Schluessler, etc. Plenty of pop throughout.
  21. I will add some notes of my own after watching the first four innings of the scrimmage from this afternoon: Adrian Rodriguez I don't think it can be emphasized enough how impressed I was after watching this kid in action. 1st AB – right-handed double off the base of the right centerfield wall. 99 mph EV. 2nd AB – left-handed grand slam. 103 mph EV and 366 feet down right field line. He is your guy at third base.
