  1. Ewers says the Ohio State front seven is a high effort group that plays really hard.
  2. Ewers says the offense needs to have 1st and 2nd down wins against Ohio State. Points to being able to extend drives in manageable 3rd down situations. Also wants to punch it in in the red zone.

  9. Ohio State's punting Joe McGuire averages 41.8 yards per punt this season, good for 91st in the country. McGuire has a net average of 39.2 which ranks 90th. In comparison, Michael Kern's 37.1 net average ranks 130th.
  10. Texas has the No. 1 scoring defense in the country for 1st quarters – allowing just 5.2 points per opening quarter. Meanwhile, Ohio State has taken leads of 21–0 and 14–0 in their two playoff games after the first quarter. Whoever comes out on top in that frame will have the upper hand.
  11. tOSU has been incredible at starting games recently. But I like the Texas defense and their 1st half approaches as of late.
  12. @Bobby Burton, @Gerry Hamilton and I had the conversation earlier today on Coffee & Football about what you would do if you were Steve Sarkisian and you won the coin toss. I believed in allowing the defense to take the field first and seeing if Ohio State could go the length of the field to begin the game. Gerry and Bobby sided with taking the ball and putting the offense on the field to start the contest, citing Ohio State's scorching hot starts to their Playoff games. What would you do given the decision?
  13. Mukuba on tOSU's RB duo: "They are both special guys, who are special with the ball in their hand."
  14. Mukuba says Jeremiah Smith has a crazy catch radius.
  15. Mukuba: "With these added games, I feel like it gives you a different switch, a different mentality knowing that one of these games could be your last game. We try to go out and prepare like this could be our last game or else we'll keep going."
  16. Mukuba says he is looking at ths game just as he would any other game throughout the season.
  17. Mukuba says he is not too concerned with the big plays allowed by the Texas secondary and defense as of late. Says most of the plays have been fixable.
  18. Mukuba says Gavin Holmes and Manny Muhammad have played "exceptional."
  19. Mukuba says the way he is playing football reminds him of his high school days – "Just flying around having fun."
  20. Hill says he doesn't focus on what other teams have been doing after being asked about being the only SEC team still alive.
  21. Hill says it will be really cool to play back in Dallas. Says the family won't have to travel all too far for this game. Mentions winning a state title at Denton Ryan at AT&T Stadium.
