    Ohio State's punting Joe McGuire averages 41.8 yards per punt this season, good for 91st in the country. McGuire has a net average of 39.2 which ranks 90th. In comparison, Michael Kern's 37.1 net average ranks 130th.

    Texas has the No. 1 scoring defense in the country for 1st quarters – allowing just 5.2 points per opening quarter. Meanwhile, Ohio State has taken leads of 21–0 and 14–0 in their two playoff games after the first quarter. Whoever comes out on top in that frame will have the upper hand.

    @Bobby Burton, @Gerry Hamilton and I had the conversation earlier today on Coffee & Football about what you would do if you were Steve Sarkisian and you won the coin toss. I believed in allowing the defense to take the field first and seeing if Ohio State could go the length of the field to begin the game. Gerry and Bobby sided with taking the ball and putting the offense on the field to start the contest, citing Ohio State's scorching hot starts to their Playoff games. What would you do given the decision?
