  3. Sarkisian on being the playcaller this deep into the season while being the head coach and ultimate decision maker: Says the continuity between the staff he brought from Alabama has helped tremendously. Mentions he had a lot of success doing what he did as a playcaller at Alabama and believes he was hired to do just that. Play calls.
  4. Sarkisian on Jay Hartzell's departure from Texas: He took a chance, and took a risk on me as an assistant coach at the time. The support that he gave, not only as a football program, but the entire athletic department, i think Chris Del Conte would echo the same sentiment." Adds he did a tremendous job in the four years that he has been at Texas.
  5. Sarkisian: " We're in this NFL format. It's not about who's the best team for 12 games, It's about who's playing the best football this time of year"
  6. Ryan Day says nothing that has happened previously will matter in regards to what happens on Friday. Says, just look back a week or two ago... I believe he referred to Michigan game.
  7. Sark: If you poll the room, Ohio State would be the favorite in the game. But that is why you have to go out there and play the game and prove who is worthy of moving on.
  8. Sarkisian says the reason why Ohio State has the fewest offensive snaps amongst the CFP finalists is because they score so fast. Sark adds the 12-team playoff, it is not about who has played the best ball all season, but at the current moment. Sarkisian gives credit to Ohio State and the staff.
  9. Sarkisian in his opening statement: "To think teams go unblemished is probably not realistic, especially in our two conferences"
  10. Sarkisian was the 1997 MVP of the Cotton Bowl when he was the QB at BYU.
  11. Should be starting up in the next five minutes or so.
  12. Cotton Bowl statue for Texas, made completely out of Goodyear Tires.
  13. Texas is practicing at AT&T currently. Final walk through, no pads, no helmets.
  14. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and Ohio State head coach Ryan Day are on the podium for the final time ahead of the Texas-Ohio State meeting in the College Football Semifinal. The game will kickoff Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Notes and quotes from both coaches will be in the comments down below.
  15. Kaluma with six shots in the first 4:00 lol. Went 3-6.
  16. Texas is going to get a pissed off Tennessee team after that disaster of a 1H. Vols shot 4/29 FG and trail No. 8 Florida by 19 at the break.
  17. Kaliq Lockett also told me that DB Kade Phillips is one of the best defensive backs he has ever gone up against in his career. Not too bad!
  18. 2026 Mansfield OL Felix Ojo didn't look out of place today either. Really lengthy body. Ojo and Texas talk often, but not everyday at this point.
  19. Carlton said he is listed at 245 pounds at the moment. He was a bit surprised when they asked him to play some inside DL during the practice today but that he is ready for the challenge. Really impressive EDGE prospect. Similar build to Zina Umeozulu off the edge, but perhaps a bit further along in terms of weight at this point.
  20. 2026 WR Jordan Clay is the only '26 WR on his team here in San Antonio. Clay said Texas is definitely in his top group right now. Says Chris Jackson and Steve Sarkisian were able to build the energy in his recruitment. Nebraska, Arkansas, Tennessee, Baylor, Oklahoma are listed as other schools that are monitoring the SA prospect. Also worth mentioning that Clay came in listed at 6-feet-4-inches during AAB measurements.
  21. 2026 EDGE Jamarion Carlton says he is definitely going to be at Texas on the 25th for the Junior Day. Says he speaks often with Pete Kwiatkowski and was a big fan of the Texas EDGE room this year. Really liked seeing the Longhorns deploy their pass rush specialists in certain downs and distances. Carlton mentioned a decision may come around April-May, but we will see. Of course getting through the official visits will be something to monitor. Texas in a really good spot and the relationships play a big role.
