27-17 Horns.

Kentucky and Arkie are the two easiest left. Everyone else can beat us on a bad day. And we can beat everyone else on a good day. This five week bonus mini camp should start paying dividends over the next two weekends.

is everything I hope Derek Cooper is for us next season. Great burst, great cutting ability, powerful when he makes contact. Might not have Cooper’s wheels either.
-
Six starts and 5-1 no?

If they get smoked this wknd, which very well could happen, I wonder if this is the least of their coaching concerns. Tough times in Gainesville
Usually I’d be all for the best version of Florida possible to make it a good game, but given the circumstances this season I’ll take a Miami blowout and a full Gator coaching implosion this weekend please.

We’re going to start playing the vaunted “14 personnel” offense.

You posted the sunshine thread last night, now you’re in panic mode? 🤘
Ahh, no. Just curious about the contingency planning for this season. My hope and dream is still fully aligned with the sunshine and roses option that he pulls off a Colt like sophomore year and goes on to do great things next year.

I hear what you are saying. I really do. But do you honestly think Sarkisian has the balls to bench a Manning. Sorry I don’t.
In a vacuum, no, I don’t think Sark has the balls to do it, but there is a point between now and a 3 and 9 record this season that he’d have to.-

Repeat this after me….Arch Manning will not get benched. No chance.
You better pray he figures it out. That is the contingency plan.
Everyone has a plan until they start out 0-2 in SEC play and 3-3 on the season.

Let Arch cook
For a certain amount of time, yes. But there’s too much invested in the success of this program from an NIL standpoint, fan investment and the considerations of every other player on the team for this entire season to turn into 12 games of teaching Arch how to play again. At some point you rip the bandaid which brings in the contingency planning. -
I just don't see what Caldwell gets us that we can't get from Lacey. Unless we really think Caldwell is capable of an SECCG / CFP run, if Arch is out you're basically building for 2026.
-
At this point the coaches have to be parallel pathing a plan in case this is just not an in-season fix with Arch.
IMO you keep working with him through this weekend but at some point the team and the season goals are the priority.
So what’s the contingency if he lays another egg this weekend or in Gainesville?
Mine would be to work KJ into the gameplan starting this weekend. Give him a few series in the 2nd and the 4th. See how he does under the lights. Then spend the entire two weeks prior to Florida giving them something extra to game plan for, and maybe continue to use Lacey as a change of pace to come in for Arch.
If the wheels do eventually fall off for Arch this season, at least we’re getting some critical experience for KJ.Thoughts?

Sit Baxter and Wisner. Need them for UF/OU. Unleash Simon!

Remember the great debates of the Dark Decade where we questioned whether it was coaching or players? And that you shouldn’t have to sign a five star RB to get better run game production against UTEP? I’m having those feelings again. We shouldn’t need Derick Cooper to run for more chunk yards against UTEPs defense, and yet I find myself saying I’m not surprised because all we have are decent but not elite running backs on campus.

redshirt freshman
Okay so this equals VY’s 2004 season and we’re still on track for the same record.
I kid.

VY got benched at home in the 10th game of the season in 2003 and then got benched again in the bowl game.
To be fair that was his freshman year.

But he got another commit from a “Big Human” that doesn’t grade out well and can’t play offensive line.

This is Arch’s redshirt sophomore season.
2007 was Colt’s redshirt sophomore season. That year Texas went 10-3 with losses to K State, OU and A&M and ended with a Holiday Bowl win vs Arizona State.
Colt’s stat line that season: 65% passing for 3,305 yards, 22 TDs and 18 Interceptions.
We all know how 2008 and 2009 went from there.Maybe we just need to be patient. (Also it would help if Sark had a Jamaal Charles in this backfield.)

Is it open season on Notre Dame's recruits? This Marcus Freeman stuff has been unreal.
Haven’t followed. I know they’re 0-2 but what’s going on with Freeman?

Does Deshaun Foster still have any eligibility left?
That was a hell of a recruitment. Thought for sure we had him and then he and Robert Thomas punked us!

Yeall well no 💩 dude what kind of take is it to say that 4th year starting quinn would do a better job than this.
Letting Quinn go for Arch was always about the ceiling of Quinn, that not being of a championship team.
Of course the way it looks right now we might not even make the playoffs so in retrospective it might make you think that you'd rather see another semifinal appearence rather than not making the playoffs at all.
I don't really understand what we're even discussing here.
Arch needs to figure it out, mentally. We're not going far without him.
Just answering OPs question.
