    Not that pro franchise owners don't make weird decisions, but what has Riley done lately to suggest he'd succeed in the league? And, why would a guy who fled the SEC for the Pac12 and easier recruiting want to go pro? Now that I think about it, wouldn't his perfect job be Tech, if USC is happy to let him walk?

    Didn't people learn about Indiana last year?! Kind of looks like Bama and Ole Miss have the inside track to the SEC championship assuming we're going to fart away at least one game. The shocker will be if Georgia takes 3 SEC home losses (Bama, Ole Miss, and us) so the road to Atlanta still runs through Athens.

    Any idea if a medical extension will still be possible? Not a wild scenario for a guy with pro prosoects to lose year 4 in game 2 to injury, and then something else happens in fall camp year 5... needs to get back on the field for draft purposes. But I guess there has to be a limit at some point.

    A year ago, we thought a mobile Joe Burrow was wasting away on the sidelines while a future 7th rounder plateaued. There are new datapoints. Hopefully misleading and incomplete but nevertheless can't blame our fans. Everyone inside a college blueblood or NFL lockeroom knows the reality of tape is worse than the distasteful fan boos, Sark and Arch and Taaffe essentially acknowledged it.

    To clarify, can Caldwell or Owens play the Haynes roll? If not, do you go to Lacey if Arch goes down? Or, if the drop-off to QB2 isn't much, do you just not implement the Haynes plan, making it easier for QB2 to come in with the preferred scheme? Your approach makes perfect sense given the situation, but I'm not sure it's a season long solution.

    This is fine, but when (not if) your running QB is injured, then what? Another redesign? Shouldn't QB2, or 2A and 2B depending on how you read the room, be able to run similar game plans to the starter?! Is QB4 that guy but not ready?!

    Counterpoint, if we beat OSU last year and face ND, and beat UW the year before and face Michigan, maybe he has two. But to your point, we did neither, thanks to the offensive side of the ball. It's not just luck, evolution and growth are needed. Counterpoint, who out there is better suited to keep us in contention? An old Saban, a detestable Urban? I wouldn't even want Day or Dabo. Lanning is unproven. How's DeBoer doing? Let's try Shanahan! Our best bet is for Sark to get over the hump, which to the OP point, may involve tough evals of his inner circle.

    Urban is not above setting us up for failure, so I like that he's calling for a Buckeyes win. However the idea that all Day can trust Sayin to do is low risk passes for a field possession game has me licking my chops if our OL holds up. Meanwhile I'd like to see Sark pull a secret hidden 2H starting script out of his back pocket.

    In an alternate universe he'd be starting for us, Keinholz would have just beaten Air Noland or a portal dude, while Quinn would be starting for the Falcons. But thankfully that's not the actual story arc... #blessed

    How about this: 1) 2 game preseason, records don't count, schedule vs historic rival or regional teams incl fcs, basically a scrimmage and rev generator 2) 32-48 team super league, world cup style groupings of 8. Promotion/relegation optional to the rest of D1 FBS 3) top 16 advance to playoffs in mid Nov. Mirror playoffs for non superleague. Bowl games for rest - A&M Texas Bowl dreams vs B12 live on. 4) National championship Jan 1-10 timeframe, done before spring enrollment 5) 2 portal windows: Dec and May 6) 1 signing day, Dec 1 7) 1-2 revenue spring games allowed vs other schools

    Separating this from the 10-2 bargain thread was savvy! I'm personally all in for an undefeated season. SP+ at 9 wins feels bearish! 10-2 is what to take to Vegas. I like that the FPI table also includes chances of going undefeated to calibrate exuberance. A 9% chance is pretty reassuring to me! SP+ would curb that enthusiasm a bit but then we can explain away preseason data 😎
