    Based upon comments on the board, our coaches can neither recruit, close, or actually coach. Staff cannot evaluate talent, and we fail to money whip any recruit into signing. As a program we are approaching the eight circle of Hell. And cats and dogs are sleeping together.

    All I know is that when I quit coaching and moved to a seat in the stands I instantly became so much smarter than any coach even with my limited access to what was happening daily. 😜

    I have always thought that Selvin Young’s block was never given the credit it deserves in the touchdown. As great as VY was, I am not sure he scores without that block.

    I think from the standpoint of getting people healthy, yes. But we have seen through the years the rust build up when teams sit for extended periods. If you are peaking and then sit out, I don’t see the long break as a positive.

    I am curious, did the almuni network or opportunities as an alum ever come into the conversation? I look at Texas and think there are long term benefits for a athlete who stays loyal to the school.

    Plan for failure or failure to plan. Seems they did the latter. I cannot understand firing someone, especially mid season, without the next hire in your back pocket.

    A different perspective. Can you imagine a top salesman declaring he is going to work for a competitor and take the top salespeople and support staff with him so that he can start building a sales pipeline? All while wanting to stay short term at his old employer so he can grab some accolades and more money? Never would happen. And LSU looks absolutely without any morals in allowing this to happen. My hope is this bites them in the Karma buttocks really hard.

    Some kids make the best choice for their family and their own interest. That doesn’t always include Texas. Evidently our offensive line coach can identify talent….

    Visiting Valletta, Malta today and pop into a restaurant as it starts to rain for some lunch. Waiter, who I learn is Bulgarian, approaches me and asks if I am Italian and I reply no, I am from the US. He asks where in the US. I reply Texas. He shoots me a Horns Up. He said a group of Texans were in a week ago and he said they taught him this is how all Texans say hello. 🤘🏻
