    I get the you paid $ to see the game and feel you have a right to express your frustration. But just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should. Have some class and support the team. Better yet, turn it around. If you were on the sidelines, how would you feel? Do you think that they do not know or see what is happening?

    I had returned to a previous employer for about three months. I had left a job with a lot of travel which included flying in and out of the airports the planes had taken off from. I watched on a TV and could not comprehend the towers had fallen. I remember picking up our daughter from high school that day and what had happened had not sunk into her yet. They kept the students in the dark quite a bit.

    I do not disagree with your assessment, and given the talent it is a real possibility. My issue was doing a comparison of UT versus the other teams I saw while taking into account the competition. Was Clemson really that bad or is LSU that much better? Wisconsin had moments but ND looked pretty solid. And the Louisville Ole Miss game both teams looked good. I could go on with this, but I think my question mark right now is where are we compared to these teams? I know, first game of the season, but I think some luck will come into play. I anxiously await tOSU game to get a real sense of the possibilities for this season.

    I fail to see the upside for LSU. Everyone wants to win, but they sure appear to be confident in this course of action. And what do you tell the current team members when you are grabbing late additions? Optics be damned.

    Here is the part that no one seems to be talking about. SEC member institutions voted for this in a unanimous vote. I don’t see an AD or University President saying “Yes I voted on the ban, but go ahead and challenge it Coach.” Someone would have no credibility following that. And yes, I know football stirs the drink, but no one is going to get their legs taken out after voting yes on this rule. Then again, probably half the fans cannot name their university Predidents name….

    One of my favorite restaurants is Ribs of Vienna in Austria. I am not suggesting a DoorDash, rather they do ribs but with rubs/flavorings like you would cook wings. They marinate for three days prior to cooking. Makes for some different takes on ribs.

    I suggest that a quick check of who and what rating the IOL that were actually in the portal be the first stop. I think you will find that there were very few highly rated IOL to choose from to begin with. Would you have been happy with the #7 and #17 rated IOL in the portal? That was Nate Brooks and Conner Stroh. And as we witnessed with the Michigan lineman who visited, money whipping isn’t the solution either.

    You lay out a good argument. I think what is somewhat of a challenge is an “agent” with little to no experience helping derive a value. I see your free market approach and letting the buyer beware. My concern is a player getting bad advice and ending up without a school to play at. True, free wheel, but I see it in the same vein as offering players advice on how to secure and grow financially.

    I agree. I would be in favor of a one time free transfer everything else you sit out with the exception being a HC changes. The parity is also of concern. The day when the bottom half of the teams in each conference is made up of 80% first and second year players is a concern. Could athletes remain loyal to a school? Sure. But most will not be able to match the financial package and long term benefits of the other schools.

    Greetings OTF Community! I thought it might be interesting to get the communities input into their thoughts on the top issues they would like to see changed regarding the portal. All I ask are two things: Do not turn this into a meme fest. I love them, but really want you to use your words. And I think we have seen enough Joe Zura memes to last a lifetime. When you list a problem, justify it it and provide a solution as to why. It is easy to complain, yet harder to find solutions. I will offer an issue that I would like to see addressed to start things off: Agent certification- Whomever represents an athlete has to meet a certain criteria. No, they do not have to be a lawyer, but they have to have some knowledge of calculating market value, contract negotiations, cost benefit analysis, etc. What I want to avoid in the future is Uncle Slim or a buddy majoring in business in negotiating with staff who has no idea how to look at compensation and a university in total.
