  9. AUSTIN, Texas — Texas women's basketball head coach Vic Schaefer has announced the addition of Tory Teykl to his staff as the Director of Operations. Teykl, most recently the Longhorns Executive Assistant to Chief of Staff & Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director Chris Plonsky, brings over 10 years experience in athletics operations and administration. From 2022-24 Teykl served as the Director of Football Operations at Temple University. Prior to that, Teykl spent two seasons at Kansas as the Assistant Athletics Director for Football Operations and Director of Player Development. Teykl has experience on the Forty Acres from 2017-19 when she served as Director of Football Operations at Texas. In that role, she led and directed all daily operations and communications within the football program and also managed all team travel, student-athlete housing and developed game day itineraries for home, away and bowl games, among other responsibilities. Prior to her time at Texas, Teykl worked at Houston as the team's Director of Internal Football Operations from 2015 to 2016, where she was accountable for all internal aspects of the Houston football program. Teykl also served various roles in her seven-year career at Houston, in both football operations and marketing, promotions and sales. Teykl is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where she earned her master of science in sport management and her bachelor of business administration and marketing. In 2019, Teykl was a recipient of the Texas Athletics Teamwork Award and Texas CATAPLT (College Athletic Talent and Professional Leadership Training) class graduate. She also served as a member of the Women's Leaders in College Sports, Director of Football Operations Committee, and American Football Coaches Association.
