  1. 100% agree with everything you said. Texas has found a way to win every Big 12 matchup except one, but they haven’t looked like a team who dominated the conference. At all. Not in the way you’d expect, anyway.
  2. It’s Friday, so start your weekend off with us beginning at 8 AM for Coffee and Football. We will be discussing all things Texas and taking your questions!
  3. The NCAA and its five power conferences have agreed to allow schools to directly pay players for the first time in the 100-plus-year history of college sports. The NCAA and its leagues are planning to alert plaintiffs' attorneys Thursday that they are prepared to move forward with a multibillion-dollar agreement to settle three pending federal antitrust cases, sources told ESPN. The NCAA will pay more than $2.7 billion in damages over 10 years to past and current athletes, according to sources. Sources said the parties also have agreed to a revenue-sharing plan allowing each school to share up to roughly $20 million per year with its athletes. All Division I athletes dating back to 2016 are eligible to receive a share as part of the settlement class. In exchange, athletes cannot sue the NCAA for other potential antitrust violations and drop their complaints in three open cases -- House v. NCAA, Hubbard v. NCAA and Carter v. NCAA. more here: https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/40206364/ncaa-power-conferences-agree-allow-schools-pay-players

  5. Texas, in general, hasn’t done well in the Big 12 tournament. Winning it a handful of times in 26 years isn’t good. Its not obtuse in saying I wouldn’t base any decision on the Big 12 tournament alone. That would be insanely dumb. Regular season and post season is what should be considered, with post season play being considered the most.
  6. On Thursday morning the Longhorns picked up a preferred walk-on commitment from All Saints Episcopal ATH Reid Watkins. Originally committed to Tulsa, Watkins decided to instead take the PWO opportunity in Austin once he was accepted into Texas. Watkins also had scholarship offers from Houston, Navy, Troy and more. The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder can play both running back and safety, although most schools recruited him as a safety. Watkins went to high school in Brock before transferring to All Saints his senior year.
  7. Good morning! We’ll be live shortly after 8:00 AM to talk about the latest in Longhorns news. We will also be joined by Texas Softball HC Mike White today.
  8. No one should be surprised that Texas did poorly in the Big 12 tournament. They haven’t won it since 2015 and only have six times since joining the Big 12, with four of those coming in about a six year span. Don’t judge Pierce by that, but rather what happens next.
  9. I tried to get him the day of, actually. Thought that would be sweet. But that was a no go, so we are doing it tomorrow!
  10. Tomorrow morning on Coffee and Football, Texas Softball Head Coach Mike White will be joining us to talk about the super regional versus Texas A&M, the phenomenal play of Reese Atwood, the season in review and much more. You won’t want to miss it!
  11. Here we go, boys. Down 1-0. Let’s see what happens.
  12. At 8 AM, join us for the best Texas discussion around. We will be talking your favorite team and taking your questions.

  13. Ace is for Texas, yes. For Tech it will be Kyle Robinson (4-7, 4.97 ERA).
  14. He is eligible, yes.
  15. Reminds me of 2006. Kansas was ranked as high as No. 2. That year was one of the most exciting and most fun years in the last 25 years. Over the course of that season we had SEVEN different No. 1 teams. And besides Kansas, we had multiple No. 2s as well, including Boston College, Cal, South Florida, Oregon, LSU, USC, Georgia and West Virginia. Texas started the season ranked No. 4 and finished 11th, if I remember correctly. And that was the “RUDY RUDY RUDY” year where the Horns beat down Arizona State in the Holiday Bowl. What a season!
