  1. Just dusting off the show’s control panel today.
  2. Don’t get it twisted. I bought a white board (that will be here today) to keep tally going forward. It’s two sided, so anytime anyone I do a show with mutes themselves… I will flip it over and write that moment down.
  3. @Bobby Burton had Omar Saleh on his list, but I could not find a picture anywhere.
  4. We are 65 days away from the Longhorns squaring off against the Buckeyes in Columbus. Who’s your favorite number 65? Jake Majors Greg Dahlberg
  5. Join us for C&F starting somewhere around 8:15 AM, as we talk Texas and take your questions.
  6. I’m afraid it’s going to be a battle for awhile, unfortunately. Hell I can’t even get into my own neighborhood right now. They have it blocked off. Having to drive completely around and go through the backside. The joys of a small town (and only having two very spread out entrances into your neighborhood).
  7. Stopped by the time I was finishing the post. Haha.
  8. Nailed it. Absolutely ridiculous. Sat for 13 minutes earlier without moving.
  9. I’m driving right now (stopped for construction), so I’ll add more soon.
  10. .338 avg, 7 doubles, 10 HRs, and 41 RBIs.
  11. Found my wife’s account.
  12. Keeping tally this time on how many days. I was doing so freaking good. Like 1.5-2 months good. And then I choked it away. 🤦‍♂️
  13. Went deep into the archives for today, yall. Check out the blurb on Sewell... Harley Sewell Harley Sewell had a remarkable collegiate career at the University of Texas, where he played as a linebacker before transitioning to offensive guard in the pros. Known for his grit and hustle, he was a two-time All-Southwest Conference selection and earned First-Team All-American honors in 1952. One of his standout moments came in the 1953 Cotton Bowl, where he helped lead Texas to a win over Tennessee and was named the game's Most Valuable Player. His performance in that game was legendary—he anchored a defense that held the Vols to just six first downs and minus-14 rushing yards. Sewell’s journey to Texas is the stuff of football folklore: he was discovered working atop a telephone pole in the tiny town of St. Jo, Texas. A recruiter shouted up, “How would you like to play football for the University of Texas?” and just like that, a Longhorn legend was born. -- Herb Gray: He played for the Longhorns from 1953 to 1955, earning All-American and All-Southwest Conference honors in his senior year. He was also named team co-captain and the Houston Post’s SWC MVP for defense in 1955. After college, he was drafted by the Baltimore Colts but chose to play in the Canadian Football League, where he had a stellar career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. -- Doug Dawson: Doug Dawson had a stellar collegiate career as an offensive lineman for the Texas Longhorns from 1980 to 1983. A Houston native and Memorial High School graduate, he quickly rose through the ranks to become a team co-captain and was recognized as a consensus First-Team All-American in his senior year. He wasn’t just a force on the field—he also earned Academic All-American honors, showing his dedication in the classroom as well. His leadership and performance helped anchor the Longhorns’ offensive line during a competitive era in Southwest Conference football.
  14. We are down to just 66 days before Texas opens the season against Ohio State. Who is your favorite Longhorn to wear No. 66? Some options today include... Harley Sewell Herb Gray Doug Dawson
  15. Show starts around 8:15 AM!
  16. Here’s what he told Pat Dooley today: “Most people picking Texas to win the SEC. They’ve got Arch Manning already winning the Heisman too. My question is: if he was this good, how come they let Quinn Ewers play all the time last year? And he was a 7th round pick.”
  17. Jay's cousin played TE for SMU and Utah and is now an OT in the NFL. I took him on a recruiting visit to Lousiana Tech when he was still in high school. His other cousin was a RB at SDSU. He also had a cousin who played college basketball, iirc. I believe Jay's dad played in the NFL as well. Very talented family and some big ol' boys.
  18. Today’s pictures took some digging. Big time.
  19. As we draw closer to kickoff against Ohio State, we are counting down looking at players who wore that particular day’s number. Today is 67, so who is your favorite? Some choices include…. Julius Whittier Jim Yarbrough Will Wilcox Tope Imade
  20. Join us for Coffee and Football as we discuss everything Longhorn related and take your questions. Show starts around 8:15 AM.
  21. That’s when I’ll say “why would you listen to me? I’m just the baseball guy.”
  22. I spoke with an SEC assistant coach who is involved in the recruitment of North Crowley offensive tackle John Turntine. This coach (and this program) have been recruiting him for quite some time, actually. The coach said that the Longhorns, along with Michigan and Texas A&M, are the three schools with a legitimate shot to land Turntine, which lines up with what @Gerry Hamilton has been saying. When asked which one he felt Turntine would ultimately end up at, he broke it down by percentages. “I’d say Texas leads. I think it’s somewhere around 50% Texas, 30% Michigan and 20% Texas A&M.” Obviously anything can change, but felt it was worth passing along. Turntine is set to announce next Friday, July 4th.
  23. Someone gotta pick up the slack when hooky is being played.
