  1. @Joe Zura in shambles over this post.
  2. My apologies. I responded and never pressed submit. 😞 You are correct! 1 WR error, 3 drops.... so at least 22/30 if those drops were hauled in.
  3. Join us for Coffee and Football, as we talk the Longhorns and take your questions. Show starts (somewhere around) 8:15 AM. See yall there!
  4. That was the only family friendly part I could think of that I wouldn't get in trouble by Bobby for saying on here 😆
  5. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing that because I was about to look. Much like my mute count, we got a long way to go…
  6. Speaking of Oregon, I hear Joe recently found Dan’s Tik Tok account and is a major fan. Why don’t you share, Joe?
  7. Rome wasn’t built in a day. This is my Rome. Unfortunately some days are Groundhog Day in my Rome.
  8. IT’S ABOUT OUR LIVES, DON’T YOU GET IT????
  9. Someone’s feelings are hurt that I didn’t include Oregon this week.
  10. Schloss and his staff reeled in two big commitments today for the 2027 class. The first was catcher Lee Holt of Denmark HS in Georgia. Holt is one of the top catchers in the 2027 class. The second came just a bit ago, when RHP J. Beckett Berg pulled the trigger and announced his commitment to the Horns.
  11. Here’s my week three edition of the most random college football facts I could find that pertain to the current state of CFB. The facts: - There are now only 55 undefeated teams remaining at the FBS level. - Mississippi State’s win over No. 12 Arizona State marked the first time they beat a ranked non-conference opponent since 1991. The team they beat was No. 12 ranked Texas. - USF Football is the 9th team in the history of college football to win games at FSU, Florida and Miami. Forty-two have tried. - Florida paid USF $500,000 to get upset on Saturday. Ouch. - After losing to Missouri over the weekend, Kansas is now 0-20 against KSU and Mizzou since 2009. (Bonus KU/Mizzou fact: Mizzou has the same number of Big 12 wins between 2008 and 2023 as Kansas, despite being in the SEC since 2013.) - Oregon State is the only team in the FBS to have scored a TD but not a conversion. No PATs, no successful 2 point conversions. - Only two FBS teams have yet to score a TD… Ball State and Charlotte. - After Saturday’s pick six against Cal Poly, Utah now has 22 straight years with one. That is the longest streak in the nation. - Washington scored so many touchdowns on Saturday, that they actually ran out of TD celebration fireworks. It marked the first time in ten seasons that the Huskies score 70+ points. - All four D1 teams from northern Louisiana played on Saturday. They lost by a combined score of 232-7. - The SEC set the AP poll record for most teams ranked from a single conference with 11 after the latest rankings.

  15. Just a tad early for the overreactions, but hey.. here we are! From USA Today: Arch Manning amassed good stats in Texas' rout of San Jose State, but he was far from flawless. What if Arch Manning doesn’t stink? And, what if he’s not some blend of Tim Tebow meets Joe Burrow? What if he’s just … average? Maybe, a notch above average, especially when he’s not facing Ohio State. I know, I know, when evaluating Manning, it’s a spicy-takes-only zone. I’m at risk of a committing party foul, because there’s nothing especially spicy about calling a first-year starting quarterback average. Based on what we’ve seen of Manning through two starts this season, though, it’s the appropriate evaluation. If you believed everything you read on social media, then Manning was either awesome or awful against San Jose State. He was neither. He was sufficient, while starting in front of a home crowd against an overmatched opponent. No wonder Archie Manning predicted his grandson wouldn’t declare for the NFL draft after this season. Nothing we’ve seen suggests he’s ready for "Monday Night Football." Nothing we’ve seen suggests Steve Sarkisian erred by starting Quinn Ewers the past two seasons, either. Manning made some nice tosses in Texas’ 38-7 rout of San Jose State. Say this for him: He can throw a wheel route. Any SEC quarterback should be able to carve up an opponent of this caliber, and, after a rocky start, Manning did. He also threw an interception in the red zone when he forced a pass into double coverage, and Texas punted six times while he was in the game. Just as he did against Ohio State, he looked better the longer the game went. He threw four touchdown passes, and Sarkisian kept playing him in a blowout deep into the fourth quarter, giving Manning’s stats time to marinate. If you wagered your mortgage payment on Manning winning the Heisman Trophy, you’re probably feeling squeamish. This performance did not harken memories of uncle Peyton lighting up Kentucky for more than 500 yards. Didn’t evoke comparisons to Vince Young, either. Also didn’t elicit memories of Garrett Gilbert, a former five-star bust at Texas. This performance ranked as something in between Young and Gilbert. Not spicy. Not bad, either. Manning interspersed good throws with bad ones. He made a good read on a run-pass option for a touchdown to Parker Livingstone, who’s emerged as a favorite target. He grimaced while bouncing a throw at the feet of an open Ryan Wingo. He airmailed a deep ball early in the first quarter, which came closer to an interception than a completion. He showed speed and jukes that Peyton and Eli would envy on a weaving scramble into the end zone. Manning’s passing mechanics need polish. His athleticism as a runner remains an asset. He proved effective, but far from flawless. The good news for Texas? Led by its talented defense, Texas can win a lot of games with a solid, imperfect quarterback. But, the Longhorns will need a quarterback to win a national championship. Manning hasn't looked championship ready. Maybe, he’ll get there. Manning will close September with two more games against Group of Five opponents. That’s groundwork for more stat-padding and blazing takes. "Sloppy," Manning said of his performance against San Jose State. Spicy! Like a lot of opinions about Manning, though, he overstated it. Sometimes, a guy’s just average, no matter his surname.
  16. haha sometimes! crazy to think it's never happened though.
  17. Good morning everyone! Join us for Coffee and Football beginning at 8:15 AM, as we discuss the Longhorns and take your questions. Today we are joined by Texas Athletic Director Chris Del Conte. https://www.youtube.com/live/Glt4dPoJ4VQ?si=kh1eIB_ihIuKcaSd

  19. Dak actually plays pretty good against the Eagles.
  20. I started doing this last season and people enjoyed it, so I’m bringing it back. Each week I post a list of random college football facts that pertain to the current state of events in CFB. Here is this week’s: - Alabama is 4-5 against their last nine FBS opponents. - Kalen DeBoer has four losses at Alabama as a 14+ point favorite, in 14 games as the coach. Nick Saban lost three of those in 139 games. - 2024 Florida State’s 2-10 season is the second-worst record an FBS team has experienced before beating a Top 10 opponent in their season opener. - TCU scoring 48 points is the most Bill Belichick has ever allowed in a football game as a head coach. - Two P4 programs have yet to score a touchdown this season: Virginia Tech and Northwestern. - Penn State beat Nevada 46-11 last Saturday. That score has never happened before at the FBS level. - Georgia Tech’s win last Saturday marks their first non-conference road win in a decade. - This is the first time since the 2006 Preseason AP Poll that Florida, Florida State and Miami are all ranked in the Top 15. Bonus: - UNC’s backup QB is the same age as Bill Belichick’s girlfriend. - Lee Corso’s farewell episode was the most watched College Gameday ever.
