Texas only has one roster spot available if my math is correct. I don’t know if White will try to get an outfielder or move on. I’m ready for coaching announcements.

Tech has gotten two players today. No names yet. 😬

Vivi played 2nd and SS her freshman year. She also played both in high school. I assume Vivi moves to 2nd.

Texas is 0-2 this weekend and neither made it to campus after visiting A&M and Tech.

White tries to get portal players. They are outbid year after year by other schools. Texas lost out on their top targets last year to Tech, A&M and Arkansas, and ended up with two players who took pay cuts to play for Texas. The same is already happening. Last year’s targets: Tallen Edwards and Taylor Pannell (pitcher) > A&M Jazzy Burns and Desirae Spearman > Tech Dakota Kennedy > Arkansas

Some SEC teams carry 6-8 pitchers. Texas had five last year. Right now Texas has four pitchers and one isn’t even on campus yet. As of today it’s Teagan and three very raw, young arms. Teagan absolutely needs help.

They had Citlaly last year. And they got Brenlee Gonzales. Mike White always has at least two experienced arms on staff. Right now he doesn’t.

I don’t know what the backup plan is for portal pitcher but there better be one.

I mentioned it on the other thread, Texas is in it for three players according to Softball America: Isa Torres, Moriah Polar and Maddy Azua. It is between Tech and Texas for Isa and Moriah. According to Tech sites, they have four All Americans visiting this weekend. I am assuming Torres and Polar are two of the four. I don’t know about Isa visiting. I’m hoping mods can give any insights.

Pickering lost her starting role at Oklahoma and was the DH. She wants to do more than just hit and that’s not happening next year at Oklahoma. Her hitting numbers also regressed significantly. Although I’d take those numbers any day. 😂
