    a few days before the 2003 debacle in the cotton bowl, i went to quizno's in hancock center with my roommate. i spontaneously got a bloody nose and had stopped it with a piece of napkin twisted into a plug. mack and sally came in and ordered. as they were leaving, i said "good luck, coach." he turned to say "thank you, son" and shake my hand. i'll never forget the look on his face, haha. i'm sure he remembers it.

    i had a friend give me four tickets to the 03 final four when his group had to back out at the last minute. i scrambled to find buddies to ride along with me. carmelo was talented, but effing gerry mcnamara is the one who killed us. it sucks to realize now that the 03 final four was our peak (to date). we thought we were on the cusp of breaking through. for the rest of his tenure in austin, every year, barnes had at least one glaring hole, one fatal flaw in the roster that was easily identifiable going into the season. i mean, we started balbay and mason in the same backcourt for a while. getting shawshanked by memphis in the 08 elite eight was brutal. i was on the second or third row with the students for that one. fugly.

    this will need to be verified, but there's chatter and some pictures indicating that this was a lone wolf retaliating for the strikes on iran. edit: keep your head on a swivel. we are living in interesting times.

    a harris county commissioner has publicly confirmed that tara arnold is among the deceased. no other names have been released that i have seen.

    very unique product right now, in that we have a great group of actual Texas fans who are also talented reporters and good dudes. so: (1) keep the team together (2) don’t sell out to a big network [i’m making a cignetti face at you, burton!]

    as a kid, i lived about 5 minutes from the murph when stanley richard (and junior seau) were bolts. it still doesn't seem right that the chargers aren't in SD anymore...

    pretty amazing to consider that we went from guys like him, dan patrick, and kenny mayne to bobbleheads like elle duncan and the new bald chick. i used to have sc running in the background constantly. now, i can't recall the last time i watched a full show.

    not a surprise, really. he's been a good contributor, and i think he would be in line to expect a better 2026. he has been sandwiched between whittington and a QB/OL transition.

    deboer is a hell of a coach. he's in a tough spot with next to zero margin for error, following the goat, but he's really good. i'm not sure why he'd leave bama for happy valley, unless he is simply not happy coaching under saban's shadow.

    the rumor circulating among baylor folks is some form of substance abuse...not necessarily alcohol.

    i’ve been splitting hairs on play calls and arch throwing weird fastballs since the final whistle, but despite all of that, the game came down to the fact that their one sustained drive ended in the paint and ours didn’t. we made a bunch of mistakes and left a ton on the field, and lost by a score on the road against #3. pisses me off, but it could have been worse.

    i put in for a variety of the tpwd drawn hunts every year. i've never been drawn. i'd do just about any of them, but i'd really like to do the sambar hunt on the powderhorn. side note: i wish that they'd limit the "big time" draws to Texas residents. it always sucks when some doucher from utah wins the grand slam.
