  1. These polls don't actually matter, but I just want to sht on the opinions of PG and BA because it's fun!! What are your polls measuring? Is it ranking actual resumes so far, the eye test of the "best team," most likely to win it all, predicting how the committee will rank teams for the tourney (they are ranking through 32 this year for the first time)... On resume, eye test, or most likely to win it all: I don't see any way Texas should be lower than 3. Only way they could justifiably be lower than 3 is if your poll is predicting end of season rankings, where an SEC schedule means you will take more losses vs. the "grade inflation" for Southern Miss, TCU, Oregon, USC, Oregon St, etc... and even the ACC teams in what looks to be a weaker year for them. But except GT, those teams are already behind Texas, so it can't be this... Therefore, these polls are *Trump voice* WRONG! 😂 Anyway, these polls (opinions) don't actually do anything in the real world. I can't wait for SEC play to start and to see how Jim manages toward peaking at the right time this year.
  2. Took care of business! Not the sharpest weekend, but you love the 3-0 and what you saw from Riojas and Becerra especially. Robbins' big game, Larson, Courville earning more time, Jonah in the field and acclimating, Burns, Crossland, Leffew, even Borba showing proof of life (and/or luck). Continuing a great start!
  3. A theme for Pack so far has been some trouble tracking balls. I had been writing it off as "RF is tough at the Disch" but it seems to be a Thing at this point
  4. It hurts me that A Rod's hand is still hurting. It's been obvious for a while this season already. But it sucks for him and it sucks for the team. And it's painful to watch. He has real pro potential, and I hope he can figure out what the problem is. Clearly the staples thing (or whatever out-of-left-field thing he tried) didn't work.
  5. I thought that message might've already been implied by displaying himself on a riser with "open to the public" 😉
  6. Meanwhile Jim is talking about wanting Tinney to be more aggressive!
  7. Fourth on chinyelu! (This has to start paying off for us lol)
  8. Bad timing for the under-8 TO lol. Good energy cooking!
  9. Big to get a 3rd foul on chinyelu this early! Great ball movement and attack by dailyn
  10. A lot to like from this weekend! Took care of business. Ruger, Dylan, and the bullpen looked dominant again against a step up in offensive opponent. Jonah was back and got some ABs under the belt. Borba hit a HR in the midst of a slow start. Robbins had that "star" quality of carrying us yesterday. Temo continues to shine at the hot corner. Now on to another step up in competition on Tuesday and seeing how Flores responds (and hopefully some looks for Cozart and Higgins) and then a fun Friday night game against Coastal! Great stuff so far!
  11. Yeah. At this point, it's clear that Volantis is better than Harrison. It's just a matter of when/where Jim wants to use Volantis in the strategy of a weekend series.
  12. Great to see from Crossland. No drama, kept us in control both "objectively" and with the "vibes"... gave them no reason for hope even after Dylan's exit.
  13. Yes!!! So excited Pendergrass finally gets an appearance. I want to see him in LF and getting ABs too. At this point it seems we spent a roster spot on a transfer without development upside (R-SR)... just to be the second string pinch runner and seventh string outfielder behind Gumbo. Hoping Jim gives him at least a chance to succeed.
  14. Well that should be it for Dylan. Great work. Very few barrels, kept his composure amid the infield hits, worked out of those jams with clutch pitches, hit his stride and cruised, kept his pitch count down relatively low, showed the changeup more as a third pitch. Maybe we see a move to Saturday next week...👀
  15. Good progress from Jonah there. Weak groundball, but a better AB and let the ball travel. And he was running closer to 100% down the line. We're playing the long game here, and it was always going to be a gradual acclimation; good to see it's progressing even from a couple games ago.
  16. Yeah, he's up in the 70s already, it's early season, and they shouldn't let him face the top of the order a third time.
  17. Man, that's not what they said. I should probably just leave this alone. But if you're gonna be snarky forum police, at least understand the argument first.
  18. He's been great! But (1) to reach our ceiling, we need to get Livingston going and (2) Jim only likes Larson against RHPs
