I think Coleman is the icing on the cake for this offense. BUT this could easily turn into Michigan OL fumble. Now you are scrambling for OL help. Texas doesn’t even seem to be bringing WRs on campus until he decides. This is how kids have all the leverage. If he wants to go to Texas he already knows it. Visits are over. About to be in a dead period and time is winding down. Bring in the Top 3 WRs in the portal not named Cam, he either jumps in the boat or offer someone else that option. 1. If he wants to catch air from Reed he already knows. 2. If he wants the bag from Tech, he already knows. 3. If he wants to play for his high school coach he already knows. 4. If he wants to have all eyes on him at all times playing with Arch, he already knows. Time to keep moving!

While I believe Coleman is the prize of the portal. If he doesn’t decide over the weekend I would like to see Texas move onto the next guy (maybe Horton). Start getting these guys in before they move on. Maybe that speeds up Coleman if he really wants to play with Arch at Texas. While I don’t want to play against him, he’s not nearly as scary with Reed trying to throw downfield under pressure. He’s not as scary with a new QB in Bama. Won’t see him if it’s Lubbock. Texas has the best QB in college, speed in Wingo, go to in Moseley. There are other deep threats that will be plenty good, not Coleman good but if you miss Coleman and these others commit, you have uncertainty. Save the money and put the extra towards LB/OL/RB

@Bobby Burton@Gerry HamiltonOTF is doing a good job at covering but Texas did this to themselves. When you invite 3 OL, one not being a take, you have zero leverage. Player has all the pull! Invite top 10 OL on board and let them know you aren’t pissing around waiting. If they want on the boat they better jump. Thats how you get the leverage! Invite top 4 RBs and do the same. Texas strategy was to piss around with 2 players that didn’t even enter. Now they are up against it. They let Coleman hold them hostage at WR. Coleman isn’t coming! Why not invite the top 5 WRs on your board? Nope! Missed out on all of those too! This has to be the worst “all in” portal strategy I’ve seen. I also realize not all players will come to Texas. Thats no excuse for this staff. They limited their options early, not a surprise at the outcome.

Fans are mad at the “All In” because it doesn’t feel all in. Feels like Texas is Ballers on a Budget! They put all of their eggs in a few, while a lot of good players are committing elsewhere, as Texas was hoping for commitments. Should have brought in top 10 OL in the portal and taken the best 3 that were ready to commit. Same with WR, bring in top 5 and take who’s ready to commit. Coleman would be great, he isn’t coming. Either the offer wasn’t above and beyond or he’d rather catch air in CS. Either way, waiting is costing. This is a good nucleus of a team. Getting left holding your junk is fireable offense for the GM. You are not “All in” matching schools offers or coming in under. You are all in because you are The University Of Texas! Start making offers that reflect that or stay off the “All In” mantra that doesn’t exist! Rant over

Honest question. When he’s the number one player on the board, is Texas offering higher NIL packages or just competitive offers? More than likely these top players aren’t leaving unless you truly are offering higher “tell me no” money.
