  1. That is most DTs. The point is I think people are completely under-rating his pass rushing skills. He is not Aaron Donald, but he was one of the better interior rushers in the country.
  2. I am a bit confused by this idea that Sweat is a 2 down player. PFF had him with an 85.3 pass rush grade. That is above the #1 DT (Newton) and his 84.5 grade. I question if Sweat has the stamina to play 6 consecutive snaps, but I dont get this idea that Sweat is a poor pass rusher as a DT.
  3. that is tough. Hard to punch Bobby from King of the Hill
  4. Mahommes is 28 years old, Reid is not going to hang around for another 8-10 years to coach him. I have no idea when Reid retires, but I doubt he has another 3-5 years left in the tank
  5. I believe he is part of a testing group
  6. Worthy is a nice fit in KC (subject to Andy Reid system staying there)
  7. I haven’t seen him play, so I avoided comment on him. I am not sure if he is more 3 tech or 1 tech
  8. talking the 2024 roster. Broughton, Collins, and Bledsoe all fit that athletic 3 tech bucket. You have Bryant, Sydir, and January that are more 1 techs, but I am not sure they are ready to be pulled out of the oven yet I do wonder if Bakers arrival will see the DTs run more gap and a half technique..
  9. Not to step into Rods territory, but this crop of DTs doesn’t quite fit PK. Lot of 3 techs with athleticism and a lack of stout bodies that can eat blocks and control the LOS.
  10. I would not mind taking long odds on Worthy to be the first off the board. I can see him going almost anywhere. He has rare speed and quickness combo, even for the NFL. He is guy that I could see a team falling in love with, especially as people are looking to replicate some of that Dolphins offense.
  11. Sweat is great. He is a beast vs the run and I believe finished 2nd in pressures for interior pass rushers to Murphy in the Big 12. He does remind me of the Georgia DT that went in the 1st round. He is a less twitchy version, but both had questionable gas tanks. Plenty of times this year, you could see him completely gassed. OU game was a prime example. He is a 3 down DT, but can play 8 downs in a row and be effective?
  12. I meant top 4, not playoffs. Forgot 12 team playoff is here for 24
  13. As of right now I don’t think Texas is a playoff team, unless the offense is elite. The offense should be playoff worthy, but I have my doubts on defense. Texas was able to run light boxes all year and stop the run. I highly doubt that will be the case in 2024. I don’t see those run stuffing DTs on the roster. A big key to the defensive improvement we have seen over the last 3 years was the ability to run 3-4 NFL DTs at an offense. Secondary will be better, but they will be asked to do more. Last year the run stopping ability made Catalon unnecessary. I would expect the safeties will be a vital part of stopping the run and that will add to their plate
  14. Glad to hear January’s name. It’s not ideal, but I have a feeling he is going to be counted on for some snaps. The hole at the 1 tech is the biggest question on the team and may set the ceiling for the team
  15. Based on some of Sweat’s comments the weight is the evidence of the larger question about him. I think teams are questioning his dedication to the game and not weighing in confirms the biggest fears that he will sign a contract and blow up. Murphy is headed in the opposite direction as there are not a lot of questions there. He is a high floor guys
  16. 1. I believe is DOA. It’s illegal to tie NIL to a school. Buyer beware 2. 48 is enough. Might be too much 3. no comment 4. real enforcement is needed, but it’s the schools that have helped push the NCAA to its current state. There is a great YouTube series on the Ole Miss sanctions and how they got the punishment lowered (spoiler alert: They threatened to turn on the SEC West). 5. Portal needs to be fixed. Unlimited transfers is insane. Schools are making a commitment also. I think signing with a school should come with a 2 year commitment.
  17. Doesn’t the combine start the clock off player movement, not off a signal?
  18. The applications for this type of testing are really interesting. You use a stop light and time how fast a DL gets out of his stance and covers 5 yards. That would 10x more applicable, than a 40 yard dash time at the combine
  19. That the interesting thing. Where would Sark go? Would he look to NFL, where google says head of scouting make 100-275k? Downside being they are not familiar with NIL. Do you look to college ranks? A lot of them come from places like Bama that are behind the curve in NIL. Promote from within knowing that guy is familiar with your organization and has grown up in one of the more advanced NIL environments in CFB
  20. These are absolutely great. I have been against MPH as a measure for quite some time. I think it good to know, but it tells a small part of the story. These stats bring that to light. There are a lot of guys that are really fast, when they get going. Then there are the players like Worthy and Bijan, that seem to hit top speed in 2 steps. I am a big believer that how fast you approach your top speed is more important, than your top speed. Keep in mind you need a certain baseline top speed.
  21. He mentioned that he was being recruited at Buck, but given where his body is today, I think Jack will be his spot.
  22. He have moed on from him, he is already a commit. Also he is an Edge and will fall under PK..
  23. The issues are so complex. I understand the desire to have an elder statemen on the committee, most of them have little understanding of the current issues (and they are happy about that). I doubt they would be much more than a figure head. I think it needs to be a non-affiliated enforcement agency that is well funded, because legal action should be expected. Neither the SEC nor the Big 10 want to look like they are trying to curb the rights of players and recruits.
  24. Is he? You have 3 productive WRs that were brought in through the portal. You also have 3 talented 2nd year players in Cook, Moore, and Nibblett. I could definitely see Wingo getting some spot time, but I have doubt on the others. Last year Cook was 4th in reception among WRs with 8.
  25. The question is will there be a K Rob role next year? That was more of a defined role, when the top 2 were Bijan and Rojo, KRob brought a different element to the backfield, than those 2. Blue is one of the fastest players on the team. Not sure you need to bring in someone from the bench to play that part. That said I am sure Silas will get some specific plays to get him in space.. As for the main question, I have to go Bond. Mostly because I have the most confidence in him being the starter. After Bond call it 2 spots for 3 guys (Cook, Bolden, and Golden)
