  1. its almost like you have never watched the NCAA BB selection show. There will be 3-4 days of bitching about how University X was screwed over. Look at the polls last year. If we move people to their current conferences (not a comp, but gets the point across), it would look like this,, Top 5 conferences Winners: 1. Michigan (Big 10) ranked #1 AP (AP by week came up first, so using that) 2. Texas (SEC) ranked #3 AP 3. FSU (ACC) ranked #4 4. Arizona (Big 12) ranked #14 5. Liberty (CUSA) ranked #18 At Large: Bama, Georgia, OSU, ,Oregon, Missouri, PSU, Ole Miss Last 3 out: OU, LSU, ND. Making the playoffs is a 6 million payout. If we use last year as a model that SEC lost out on 12 million in revenue based Liberty and Zona getting in over LUS and OU
  2. WR, QB, Secondary and OL should all be strengths. There is your first time. I would say to have a position group be a strength it should be rated in the top quartile of the conference.
  3. When someone like App State or Hawaii gets in over a Texas, Michigan, or Bama the media will latch on to the unfairness of this like a dog on a bone. There is very good chance the 1-2 conference champs will be teams rated outside the top 12. Good chance that the last conference champ is not even top 20
  4. I want to see how long that continues. The uproar over this in December is going to be deafening
  5. I should say I am not worried about RB production this year for the same reason the RBs were successful last year. I dont think there are many teams that will be capable of stopping the Texas offenses by playing honest boxes. Only caveat to that is the SEC is not nearly as flexible in their game plans as the Big 12. It will be interesting to see if the SEC plays safeties back and umbrella type coverages vs Texas or if they simply rely on athletes to make stops.
  6. It wasnt not strength last year. It might have been the biggest reason Texas lost to Washington. RBs had success, because of game plans. The run game is strength, when opposing defenses game plan for it. Getting yards, because the defense is willing to give them is different
  7. I think the biggest thing for the program is not to take a step back and have people questioning if 2023 was a fluke. I would like to see 10 wins, compete for the SEC title until the last week of the regular season, and make the playoffs. Talk of 12 wins is drunken fan nonsense. Its possible, but not probable.
  8. Baxter- He needs to be a more physical runner. Saw flashes of potential, but never really saw consistency. Too many times he just fell forward on first contact. Needs to lift his feet up. Red- He got into a bad habit of cutting everything backside and Sark cut the RedCat as a result Blue/Wisner- Blue has more speed, but very redundant skill sets. Wisner may have more short area quickness. Blue has ball security issues. Both have questions about running between the tackles, until they can prove it. I am not ready to call this a strength. I see this as a good collection of potential. The question will be which RB can move beyond being a young player that flashes to a consistent starter. Is there a guy you can give 20 attempts in a slugfest?
  9. I watch this and see a lot of Overshown. Great athleticism and see ball/get ball type LB. He is kept clean on 95% of the snaps. Lots of blitzing and shooting gaps (which is a double edged sword). Pass coverage was limited, but he appeared to be covering grass rather than a man. Not particularly shocking, but needs work. Like to see some more video of him being forced to make reads and shed blocks, but that is almost always the case with highly rated ILBs in HS. The physical attributes definitely check all the boxes.
  10. I think that is a near lock. Very interested in the Guard spot. Can Neto finally break through? +
  11. You would have to ask the players to duck to see that
  12. 20 pounds a month and he will 320 by August.. He'll be the twitchiest NG college football as ever seen
  13. I would say the game changed on the punt, but you are right. The score was 19-19 at the end of regulation. KC got 7 pts of a short field, hard to say the defense didnt do their part.. (I was actually surprised by the SF defense, given their prior playoff performances)
  14. When I said SF had the better team, but KC has Mahomes and better coaching. That was not a slap at Shanahan, but in respect to Spags.
  15. Just a question for you. Seeing a lot of off platform throws and clearly they are practicing that. In you opinion do you that is a good thing at such a young age? It gives me some pause after seeing Quinn be too reliant on his arm strength early in his career. (As an aside, I once heard a coach say "you need to learn and master the proper fundamental rules of technique first, so you can know when to break them)
  16. We shall see. I think most pre-season rankings are a reflection of skill players and big names. The #1 reason those predictions do not pan out is OL and DL.. OSU has DL answered, but I am not convinced they have a playoff caliber OL.
  17. Their schedule is not too demanding, so winning 90% might not say that much.. Akron Western Michigan Marshall @ Michigan State Iowa @Oregon Nebraska @ Penn State Purdue @ northwestern Indiana Michigan. Maybe 3 days they could lose on that schedule.
  18. Games with upside and limited downside: Michigan and Georgia Games with lot of downside and limited upside: A&M and OU
  19. I think Georgia has the best roster. I believe they bring back 4 out 5 OL and a 1st round QB. Front 7 is coming back. There are some questions about the DBs, as they lose multiple starters, but Georgia has earned the benefit of the doubt there.
  20. I still have doubts about that OL. They were 7th in rushing yards per attempt and 5th in sacks allowed in the Big 10. It was not a very strong unit. They also lost 3 of their top 4 receivers from last year. The defense will be salty, but the offense has plenty of questions.
  21. I am going 1. OU 2. A&M You want to own the state of Texas in recruiting, you need to beat your rivals. Keeping these 2 down will help long term. Loses will give each a boost. Lots of downside in these games 3. Georgia.. not a lot of downside in this game. I will say this could be the biggest recruiting boost with a win 4. Michigan.. Nice game on national TV on the road. I just don’t see much risk or reward to this game.
  22. I hope that Sark does not make the same mistake and take the ball first in OT.
  23. Have to have this is on football board. I am going KC. SF has the better roster, but KC has the edge at QB and coaching
  24. Thinking you have Holmes and Filsaime race to settle the fast DB
  25. It’s not up to Sark. It’s up to you
