Yeah, great take. I agree. I think early, it makes sense to grab points when you can. Those add up and before you know it, you can turn a close game into decent sized win. Another factor, how good is your defense. If we're as good as we think, we should be able to settle for FG's early and trust our D. Be a killer when you have to and feel the moment and save those A+ designed plays for those moments to drop the hammer or swing momentum back in your favor. Hook 'em!

Jeff, do you think we should take the 3 points when we can get it more? Because I feel like some of our problems are going for it on 4th down in the red zone and coming away with nothing to show for all the work to get there. To me, that is so devastating. Sometimes singles and doubles can win games. You don't always have to hit home runs. But...on the flip side, if you look at Georgia, they have this killer instinct that I think is so impressive, and always at the most crucial times of a game. It's like Kirby senses the moment and gives his guys a look and they all get it. Example: 2024 SEC championship game, Makuba absolutely blows up Gunnar Stockton at the 5 yard line, we're up 19-16 in OT. The momentum of that hit could have easily propelled us to a win. Nope. The VERY next play, Georgia races to the line no huddle after a timeout and an injured Carson Beck hands the ball off and they blow us off the line of scrimmage for the game winning TD. That was some Mike Tyson level heavyweight hitting.

I'm really curious to see how coach Muschamp calls plays against this style of offense. Wide WR splits, fast tempo, and a running QB can force a DC into some interesting decisions. Of course, we have the athletes to line up, play vanilla, and win going away. But...it took us an entire half to figure out Mississippi State a few years ago.

Being more physical is going to be the key to the season. Can we be more physical and win both lines of scrimmage. In our biggest moments in the Sark era, sometimes we are and sometimes we are not. In the last several years we were the more physical team in huge wins vs Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma (x3), Texas A&M (x2). But we lost the line of scrimmage battle when we lost to UW, Ohio St (x2), Georgia (x3). Play calling has to be aligned with the mind set to be more physical.
