    Those are great numbers, but I wonder if the level of competition would be a culture shock to players that transfer from FCS to FBS. It worked out for Cam Skattebo, but he's an outlier.

    Maraad Watson aside, I think Texas State PK Mason Shipley is my favorite portal addition for Texas this offseason. His range and accuracy could come in handy in those tough away environments at the Shoe, Swamp, and Between the Hedges.

    And some fans give the second best HC in Texas football history the Nico Harrison treatment because of that. I was sad to see it end the way it did, but you can never make me hate the man. He’s a big reason I became a Longhorn fan.

    And depending on how many of them leave after '25, they can go portal again and grab some more DTs. If they have a strong HS DT haul for the '26 cycle, they won't need more than 3, if even that many.
