  1. That kicker looks good.
  2. The only cave thing about it is I can get it real dark. Hell it is even upstairs.
  3. You should get a man cave….
  4. At least the TCU fans in Fort Worth will not have to read about it.
  5. Man it is good to see people my age an older in here.
  6. I was at the game but I don’t remember the weather being bad. He got knocked out on a punt return I think. Holy cow that was 65 years ago. I am old.
  7. Man I went to my first game in 1961 as a six year old and this guy was amazing…..
  8. I like this guy better….
  9. I would love to have a gathering of all of the OTF staff and fans on Thursday before the first game at Scholz. It would be nice to meet everyone.
  10. Where is the Austin get together?
  11. Alan Lowry who pulled a rare feat while at Texas. In 1972 he was a first team all SWC safety. In 1973 he was a first team all SWC quarterback. Pretty sure he is the only player in Texas history that has done that since two platoon football started. Might be the only player in college football to do it but that I am not sure of that. Great athlete.
  12. I totally agree. He was a helluva a baseball player too.
  13. I hope Texas can run the ball as well as the Cowboys did even though it was not against Seattle’s number ones.
  14. I am old and as a 14 year old kid I went to a lot of open practices in 1969 and many years afterwards. Hung out with Scooter Monzingo who was number twenty and was the punter for the National Champions in 69. I would go with the kickers over to the old practice field which was just across the street (southwest of the stadium) while the rest of the team practiced in the stadium. I actually held the ball for Happy Feller while he practiced field goals. Not taking a snap but just holding on the old 2” black kicking tee.
  15. The salted quality butter contains no additives other than salt which is my go to. The Gerrygold salted is the absolute best with 85% butterfat.
  16. When Arch says butter he ain’t talking about Country Crock or I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter.
  17. Gerry get rid of that Country Crock or whatever chemical laden fake butter you were holding up and get the real thing! Not only does it taste far superior but it is much better for you than that fake crap.
  18. Billy Dale scored the winning TD against Norte Dame to clinch the 1969 National Championship. I was sitting on the ten yard line about 15 rows up so it was right in front of me as was the huge diving fourth down catch by Cotton Speyer before the score. Don’t forget Jim Hudson either. 1963 National Champion and 1969 Super Bowl Champion for the Jets.
  19. Billy Schott and I met back in 1963 at the Austin airport where we were both wearing Tommy Ford jerseys with full pads and helmets to greet the team from a road game win that season We ended up on the front page of the American Statesman the next day. He went to Reagan and I went to Lanier but we reconnected as Wild Bunch members at the Disch. Great guy.
  20. Tommy Ford…..1963 National Champion and one of the best I ever saw.
  21. They are supposed to do a Houston, SA, Austin meet sometime before the season but have not heard any details.
  22. Any word on when the meet and greet in Austin will be ? Would love to meet everyone.
  23. Don’t forget the infamous Ron “McKelvey” Weaver.
