After Saturday’s 7-1 loss to Georgia, the season is on the line for Texas at the College World Series today. The Longhorns will square off with Alabama, with the winner drawing the loser of tonight’s winner’s bracket game between Georgia and Oklahoma in an elimination game tomorrow (7 p.m., ESPN) at Charles Schwab Field. Texas (45-14) will send Ruger Riojas to the mound against Zane Adams and the Crimson Tide. It’s the same pitching matchup from when the two clubs met in Austin on April 18, a 3-1 series-clinching win for the Longhorns, with Riojas striking out 11 and allowing three hits in five innings and Adams working six scoreless innings for Alabama (42-20).

Not saying the Knicks didn't deserve to win. Saying Brunson isn't great and certainly not "generational." If you look at it objectively, there's no question that all the match-ups broke in the Knicks' favor. They missed Boston. They got Cleveland. Then they missed OKC and got the more favorable match-up with SA. Even then, the Spurs had to choke worse than any team in NBA Finals history for the Knicks to win. The chances of that happening again are slim to none. In five years, Brunson will be viewed as a fortunate one hit wonder.
