OTF Premium Landen Williams-Callis Update
HonkEm replied to Gerry Hamilton's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I don’t think he was disputing anything. Speigelman’s update actually lines up with what’s already been discussed here. It’s just another piece of info pointing in the same direction for Texas. Recruiting updates come from a lot of places, and when multiple sources - local and national - are saying similar things, that usually strengthens the picture, not contradicts it. So I don’t see anything weird about sharing it. It just adds to the overall context. -
Can Michigan players enter the portal since he left?

Wow Dusty has had a crazy few years. From FAU to national champ and NBA coach within 3 years.

Moustapha Thiam come on down to the 40 young man!

Can you post the best reaction? Lol

Michigan boards are handling this about as you'd expect.

I wish the NBA could back to the days when they could indisputably claim they had the best athletes in the world. Cuban spearheaded the rules change that screwed us all. I'm thinking 1996. Jordan was unquestionably the best athlete in the world. 9 June 1996, Kobe had the best draft workout in the history of sports as a 17 year old. The consensus greatest pre-draft workout in American sports history belongs to 17-year-old Kobe Bryant during his legendary 1996 session with the Los Angeles Lakers. Held at the Inglewood YMCA, Lakers General Manager Jerry West originally scheduled the session as a favor to Bryant's agent. To test the high schooler, West matched him up in a 45-minute, one-on-one session against Michael Cooper, a recently retired Lakers defensive legend, former Defensive Player of the Year, and 9-time NBA All-Defensive selection. Bryant dominated the veteran so completely that West famously stopped the session early, stating it was the "greatest workout I've ever seen" and immediately declaring, "He's better than anybody we have on our team right now." This singular workout forced West to orchestrate a trade for the 13th overall pick to secure Bryant, fundamentally altering NBA history.

How is NIL not decided by the schools? Who else decides it? -

Wild card recruitment ... as I have said. The source, which is very close to LW-C, said Texas "absolutely" has a chance. He also said A&M has the relationships advantage. I believe a key part of this recruitment is ... the NIL piece of this is not decided by schools. That will be impactful. -

Spiegelman told me Texas was nothing more than an afterthought on Arch Manning. We all get things wrong, so I’m not throwing stones. But that was a pretty big one IMO.- 7 replies

OTF Premium Landen Williams-Callis Update
Orangeblooded replied to Gerry Hamilton's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Sam Speigelman has a article out this morning that says Texas leads. Texas leading for blue-chip RB target Elite running back Landen Williams-Callis wrapped up a busy stretch of official visits this weekend at Texas. The Longhorns got the final crack at the nation’s No. 3 RB from Richmond (Texas) Randle, who previously hit SMU, Houston, Indiana, LSU, Oregon, and Texas A&M. It’s my belief that Williams-Callis ultimately plays somewhere inside the state on Saturdays. Houston, SMU, and Texas A&M are all in pursuit of the blue-chipper. From speaking to multiple sources plugged in on this recruitment, intel points to Texas being near the top of this list. I am moving closer to moving my prediction from the Aggies to the Longhorns for Williams-Callis. If a decision were made today, I believe Texas would be the choice. After returning to Austin a second time this offseason, sources believe Williams-Callis was bullish about his fit alongside Derrek Cooper in the Horns’ backfield. A decision is expected to be locked in during July or by August, before his senior season gets underway. -
Thank you for explaining his tweet to this old man. That context makes it make sense!! 🤘🤘🤘

Texas a&m doing all of that just to have a 0-2 coach against us -
Landen Williams-Callis Update OnTexasFootball spoke to a source close to the recruitment of star running back Landen Williams-Callis this morning. The word on the Richmond (Texas) Randle record-setting runner fell in line with what we have heard in recent weeks, and yesterday. This recruitment is less predictable than some, to say the least. Taking eight official visits will always create more questions around a recruitment. The source said this is a recruitment in which relationships with LW-C, and as important the close circle around him will be very impactful. That's not to say NIL won't be key too, as nobody is going to put heads in sand. The length of relationships and depth of relationships has given Texas A&M an edge for a while. He made an OV June 12-14. When I asked if Texas has a chance, a quick answer was "absolutely". Texas has/is working to make up ground in relationships with the change at RB coach from Choice to Scott to Juluke. Steve Sarkisian is involved in this one, as much as he can be. The visit over the weekend helped Texas in terms of relationships with the close circle. Oregon also has a legit shot, as we have been reporting. The source called Houston the "sleeper" in this recruitment as well. The circle, led by uncle and former NFL Pro Bowl safety Michael Lewis, have plenty of experience with recruiting and most importantly player/coach relationships. LW-C has experienced shoulders to lean on in this process. The source also said LW-C does plan to announce before his senior season (likely in July, as of today), but is also taking a patient approach to not rushing a quick decision. Texas A&M should be considered the favorite, with Oregon, Texas and Houston in the upset position.
