Be sure not to vote if you feel this way. Every vote you cast is to influence things to be more like the way you want them to be, at the expense of things not being the way others want them to be. There is literally not a way to truly “live and let live” without becoming a monk. And honestly, I do share OP’s sentiment and believe Kalshi and Polymarket should not only not be advertised by OTF, but should be illegal. It’s far beyond sports betting. Just curious, do you think prostitution, heroin, cocaine, etc should be legal?

He’s still taking classes at Texas. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if he was trying to make amends

When I was a kid, we had a drug store downtown in my little East Texas townthat still had ice cream and soda. My grandpa would take me there and let me get a scoop of butter pecan. I also remember there was always two old grumpy farmers sitting at a table drinking coffee. My grandpa told me to stay away from them because they were just bitter old guys who were angry at the world and wanted to argue and complain. I just remembered tbeir names. Oldesthorn and MBHornsfan.

Why are you getting so heated about this? How is me posting my opinion on Kalshi controlling others lives? You are projecting quite a bit here.
-
So you want to control other adults lives? Why don't you live yours and leave others alone.

Ty'Anthony Smith, is this legit??

I truly hate these sites. Hook’em -
Michigan being favored feels like pure helmet tax at this point. That Georgia number would get ugly fast too.

Deion spends millions on recruiting, NIL, facilities, travel, analysts... Then the scouting report gets defeated by a guy ordering a beer in the hotel lobby. -
These polymarket systems are just degenerate versions of crowd sourced insurance markets. The insurance industry started in a coffee shop in London where ship owners would bet on ships returning from voyages. The coffee shop was called Lloyd’s and ultimately became Lloyd’s of London when they started taking so many “bets” it became a lucrative business for the ship owners to pool money for losses and hedge. This system and the stock market are supposed to be based on real information and risk analysis of potential loss and the value of that loss. Polymarket took the analogy too far and is just the house getting a fee on “bets”. Whether this the new money laundering scheme following DFTs or bitcoin markets is anyone’s guess, but it doesn’t feel legit to me.

That was often the only way for folks to bet, outside of some mob backed bookie or traveling to Vegas or London, until legal exchanges came to pass.

What does an acquaintance or coworker have to do with anything?

I didn’t think that the episode of “Coach” when Dauber left his playbook at the Alamo Burger before the Pioneer Bowl could happen in real life, but here we are. -
Betting has been a thing as long as there has been trade. I’d rather bet on a reliable exchange than hope an acquaintance or co-worker doesn’t welch on paying up.

fortunately, you can fast forward all the prize pick ads in the podcasts...takes about 5 seconds...unlike some ads where you have to wait a min or so to skip.

But it’s not just gas prices. It’s elections it’s criminal cases it’s everything under the sun and it’s marketed on every website and social media at this point. That’s where my issue is

You’ve managed to repeatedly call them “bad” but never elaborated how they’re different than any other betting or market prediction site
