Big outside body probably isn’t accurate, only six feet tall. He was used in a variety of roles, slot, outside, backfield at times. I love the intermediate game for Stewart, but he was very good with the ball in his hands as well. I don’t know verified times for him, but there’s definite wiggle in his game -
Changes in practice for HS athlete's in Texas
Jordan Scruggs replied to Longhornfrenzy's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Very curious to see how long this lasts. Some schools in parts of the state like SETX and Houston are going to get screwed by humidity more than anyone else. And to make it worse, there's currently only two HS indoor facilities in the Houston area. One is in Barbers Hill, it's super old, and it isn't a full field 100-yard field with end zones. The other is a full field at CE King IIRC, but there's no A/C and they just open up the garage doors. North Shore is currently building one that I believe will also be shared with Galena Park HS, but man, that's still only 3 indoor facilities for 4 HS teams. And one of those (Barbers Hill) really isn't even in the Houston area -

@CJ Vogel...I don’t know a ton about Stewart --- what was he like in high school? Was he more of a technician even back then, or did he play more as a big outside body? Always good to hear about guys grinding their way up the depth chart, especially in a room this loaded. -

Love that nugget on Chris Stewart. Buzz this offseason about bishop and Brown, easy to lose him in the fold. -

I absolutely love watching Mosley. The dude just gets it. Some WRs win because they’re freaks ... Mosley wins because he’s a surgeon. He understands leverage, he understands pacing, he understands how to manipulate a DB’s hips, and he’s always two steps ahead in the route. He’s one of those guys who looks open even before he actually is. -

36 Days Until Kickoff: Who Was Your Favorite No. 36?

Had to cheat on Graham pic. Couldn't find a picture of him at Texas! -
We're 36 days away from Texas football, so today's spotlight is on the best Longhorns to wear No. 36. William Graham ranks among the top ballhawks in school history with 11 career interceptions, including seven in 1981. His biggest play came in the 1982 Cotton Bowl, when he intercepted Alabama at the Texas 1-yard line to preserve one of the program's most memorable victories. Alex De La Torre appeared in 44 games and earned second-team All-Big 12 honors in 2015. His lead blocking helped power a Texas rushing attack that averaged nearly 225 yards per game during his final season. The current No. 36 is senior defensive back Nick Hudson, a portal transfer from Brown. Who do you think is the greatest Longhorn to ever wear No. 36? Hook 'Em. 🤘

Those two 5 stars in Ffrench and Lockett really haven't amounted to anything. Especially if Lockett gets passed by a true freshman. -

The circle of trust never seems to be as large during the season as we expect prior to the season starting. Hopefully this year will be different. Effective depth will be a necessity at some point during the season. -

The solution to getting everyone some minutes is simple: score ~ 28 points first quarter, and begin shuffling other players in. Of course that goes with about 200 yds passing first quarter as well.👀 -

Sounds like a good problem to have as far as the WR room goes. I’d get the starters out early vs Texas st and UTSA. Give the backups some good reps. Schedule is too grueling down the stretch. -

I do think Texas is potentially better at every position (not to start the season at SG), with one distinction ... Texas played two SF's last year and not a traditional 4 man, so they are combined. Lead guard/PG: Isaiah Johnson upgrade over Pope SG: Tramon Mark over Austin Goosby to start the season. Goosby has the future first round NBA draft, and possible lottery pick. But Mark has a huge experience advantage, and clutch moments over multiple years. By the last few games of SEC play, this could potentially be a push because Goosby has more playmaking ability and more ability to make plays on both ends and in transition. SF/PF: Elyjah Freeman and David Punch over Cam Heide and Dailyn Swain. Swain is the best player among the four, but Punch could have close to the same impact in different ways. The combo of Freeman and Punch is two future NBA draft picks, and Texas will have a true 4-man so this one is pretty easy to go with. Center: Matas 2026-27 over Matas 2025-26. Just natural progression of a player. This is very key here in the discussion ... the bench/depth: Mikey Lewis over Simeon Wilcher. This one isn't even close. Big upgrade. Amari Evans over Chendall Weaver, but not by a wide margin early in season. Evans in year two, making the natural jump, will bring more to the team when you combine both ends of the floor and size. Teams literally didn't guard Weaver last year on the offensive end. While Evans numbers weren't impressive as a freshman, teams will have to honor him as an offensive player in year two. He's a more talented offensive prospect/player. Evans is very good defensively. Weaver made the hustle plays very few others do, so he has a lead there over 95% of players. Marcus Spears Jr over Nic Codie (went with how the season ended with Codie playing). Not even close, even at 17 years old. Bo Ogden over nobody from last season. Lewis Obiorah and John Clark over last season. Wasn't the option last season, as early season Nic Codie was non-existent. Will be fun to watch the team build, develop and hopefully gel. -
