I believe EVERYONE including myself had much higher aspirations for last season. The reality is our Oline was not good, but that was far from the only issue. Penalties on both sides of the ball plus ST. Not causing turnovers or allowing first downs in crucial spots. Dropped balls by the wrs. More MEs than you can shake s stick at. The bottom line is the first half of the season was atrocious but the second half of the season showed some of the potential. Point is it was not just a Flood issue. It was a HC issue...it was a PK issue...It was a Banks issue...It was a leadership issue from the players with a C on their chest...It was an across the board problem. The first half of the season Texas looked worse than a modern art masterpiece. There was a lot of growth tho and that should give us all hope for what the upcoming season could and should be.

Big Nellie will be missed, a great coach and an even better man. He changed the direction of the franchise. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and Mavs nation.

Before I was born, but I remember seeing this shot over and over as a Lakers fan growing up when I was an adolescent in the 80s. This was constantly replayed until the Lakers beat the Celtics in 1985. Of course, Cuban being the kind of guy he is stuck to Nelson.

Anybody else remember this Don Nelson shot from the 1969 Finals? If so you must be old too. Celts vs Lakers (featuring Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor and Jerry West). 1:33 to go in Game 7, 1 point game, his desperation shot hits the back of the rim and bounces above the backboard and then drops in without touching the rim. Celts won by 2. This was the era of dynasties - Celts in the NBA, UCLA in men's basketball, Yankees, Packers (sorta). I was so tired of watching the Celts win every year (Bill Russell won 11 NBA championships in 13 seasons + 2 championships in college). I was rooting hard for Jerry West but the Celtics kept pulling stuff like this. West had a 53 point game in that series and averaged 38 but it wasn't quite enough. This is how I remember Don Nelson, long before he became a coach.

Blaine Irby was originally hurt in a game against Rice. The injury was bad enough that Mack Brown tried to convince Blaine to stop playing football….it took Blaine multiple years to be able to get back onto the field in games.

This was really tough. I’m ashamed of my list. And it could change with a terrific season this year.

He was my little brother in my fraternity, and I have not been able to get a hold of him. Last time he retired my email and texts was last fall. I'm not sure if he belonged to OTF. Bussey is a talented dude. Five-star; I compare him to Jermaine Bishop. A super-fast and twitchy WR that Aggy will use in multiple ways this year. Like Bishop, he's done a little of everything at 2A Timpson. He didn't face the same competition, but it's the measurables and skill set that are similar. He is supposed to be a class act too.
