But we have to accept they'll never grade SOS properly. So I agree with you somewhat, but at the same time, I'd rather Texas have a shot last year vs getting screwed by whoever is on the committee and/or media narratives. Let it play out on the field.

Look you could either be miserable and think cynical or just be happy that we still even have a chance rn. Yes these are issues but guess what we all know it already, it is what it is atp. Idc if you win a game 3-0 a win is a mf win. And if you lose oh well you lost. We can either keep crying and whining or move onto the next game, this team is who they are, deal with it. HOOKEM🤘

With the downhill ability of MT3, I would really like to see some 21 personnel with MT3/Leek and whoever the heck shows the most ability as the run blocking TE (liked seeing Masunas get the ball some but man those holds were tough). That would disguise the type of run you are setting up, Thunder or Lightning?

Still waiting for the one from after the ohio state game to go public

IDK is a freshman gonna punch an LSU player in the face in a one possession game in Baton Rouge with the season on the line? -
The problem last year wasn’t the number of teams in the playoff. It was the CFP committee ignoring SoS. Going to 24 teams could water down the regular season, ruin non-playoff bowls, and ultimately, without regard for SoS, it won’t change anything. A 9-3 Texas team could still lose out on home field advantage while a 11-1 clown college gets home field because SoS is still ignored. 24 teams isn’t a solution, it’s a money grab.

I’m not sure I’d consider coleman WR1 anymore. Wingo is the one playing up to that title for us. -
Texas fans and happiness is just impossible sometimes huh

So, funny story. I blew my patellar tendon in Sept. 2021 playing left guard in D2 ball. As the surgeon, who did knee surgeries for Sam Bradford and Adrian Peterson, among others described it, it's a "traumatic, violent injury" if it's a full tear of the tendon (mine was). Basically, rough A&P lesson says the patellar tendon connects the upper leg muscles to the lower leg muscles. Essentially, can't put any weight on that leg because, well, it doesn't work. Rehab didn't start for 6 weeks post-op and really wasn't back to feeling like myself until spring of 2023, which was nearly 18 months. It's an injury you can make a full recovery from, especially if you have University of Texas/NFL level of care instead of D2 football care. However, definitely an invasive procedure (had 22 staples) with a very not fun rehab. The level of athlete he is plus the level of care he'll get, he might be able to push and be back around August/Sept. next year. But without a doubt, his offseason and any spring/OTA type stuff is nuked.

Coach Saban said consistency is what makes a team or player elite. Until Texas gets some consistency, no kool-aid drinking for me.

That's been an issue with offensive linemen early on trying to pick up the system. For example, DJ Campbell could only play right guard early in his career. I don't know if they've looked at Seymore at other spots or if he's capable of doing it (he played both guard spots at Miami and played nine snaps in one game at center while he was at Akron, FWIW).

And it's why they will likely never win a Natty here.

This is not the sunshine I was looking for in this post!

Success rate (similar to Miami Hurricanes): — Gaining 50%+ of yards needed to move the chains on 1st down — 70%+ of yards needs to move the chains on 2nd — 100% of yards needs to move the chains on 3rd and 4th down.

Was he clearly better? Or did the defense just get stops after his turnovers instead of getting scored on after them? Turnover on your side of the field, bailed out by an interception by Cryer the next play. Very bad interception into triple coverage, again. Defense forces a punt. Defense couldn't hold off Florida after the turnovers, they (amazingly) did against Ole Miss. If Ole Miss scores after those turnovers, we would be sitting here again saying that Arch cost the team the game. The offense was better, he was basically the same outside of the third down run which had been painfully missing this season. -

I have thought of it as this way - the 24 team playoff is essentially a second season. The regular season is primarily just exhibition now - you just have to be in the upper quarter of your conference (whether your conference is good or not). This gives much more leeway for teams in the SEC to beat each other up and still get in. It also means other teams will have to strategize how they manage their personnel. Do they try to get more players playing time to increase experience in preparation for the playoffs or do they go all in trying to get the best record during the "regular season" and risk either being short-handed due to injury in the playoff season.

Basically how I look at it.
